Ive been playing for just ove 3 weeks and got the basics down, and i tried to play this song. Ive gotten the chorus and outro down, the verse is kinda tricky, but the solos got me bricked. Should I keep practicing it or come back when im more experienced?

Good session but those riffs are needlessly noodly. Would be much better if they’d written a few less notes.

hello!! this is such a cool song and i really appreciate your guide on the opening riff, it's super helpful :) this is surely a bit of a beginner question, but for the transition part where you play the octaves, how do you strum while only playing the third and fifth string notes? this is so confusing to me (particularly the avoidance of the string in between while strumming).
@davedoingguitar11 күн бұрын
It's a good question! You mute the strings you don't want to hear a note out of with your fretting hand and you do this by resting your fingers on those strings. So you'll be pressing down strings 3 and 5 on to the fretboard - the strings you want to hear the notes from - whilst having your fretting hand touching the other strings you're strumming to deaden the sound from them which stops them from ringing out. Hope this makes sense 😃

hey how do you mute the other strings when doing the power chords, or are you just not picking them.
@davedoingguitar18 күн бұрын
@@winter_monkey with your fretting hand you hold down the strings you want to hear notes from pressing them onto the fretboard, whilst Alsop laying the fleshy part of the side of your first finger (pointer finger) over the remaining strings. This deadens any sound coming from them whilst allowing you to attack with your strumming hand and not need to worry about the wrong notes coming out. Hope this makes sense!

How do you have the sound so clean? When I turn the gain up to emulate the sound it is so far from clean lol
@davedoingguitar18 күн бұрын
@@LeChienDeGarde_ a lot of the time less gain/distortion creates a better sound with more clarity. I've got some overdrive on in this video but nothing too heavy or full on. I imagine it also comes down to what gear you're using.
