This is a rebranded Shelly plug. Period. I had 4 of them. Every single one of them died in less than a year. If you want reliable, but no monitoring, IKEA will last forever.

That is odd since Shelly is well known for reliability in Europe to the point where many companies depend on it for office and machine control. This would not be the case of Shelly would be unreliable. Maybe they had a bad series which they dumped on a foreign market under a different name, or perhaps it's not a Shelly after all.

Shelly had, indeed, a couple variants with some issues. I've been moving from Tuya-based devices to Shelly, so far I am very happy with them.

Great review. Thanks! One question... how responsive is the power management reporting? I ask becasue I have a Sonoff S31 plug and I tried flashing both ESPHome and Tasmota and it would take up to 5 minutes to reports power changes. I was wanting to use that to trigger my living room lights when the TV is turned on/off, but the response was too slow to be useful. When I used SmartThings with a SmartThings branded plug, that same function worked mostly instantaneously.

Great question! We just did some additional testing, and it's pretty quick to update the power draw figures - generally within 1-2 seconds of the change.

12V 5A isn’t part of the spec. There are very very limited chargers that allow 5A throughout the PDO’s 12V itself isn’t even part of the spec but almost all chargers include it. I think Apple is one of the few that doesn’t

hello. this unofficial DJi charger to charge the DJi Air 2S battery, over time using it together with the Power Bank to recharge the DJi Air 2S battery, did you notice if it damaged any battery cells? I ask because it's not an official DJi accessory to recharge the Air 2S battery. What is your assessment of this portable adapter for recharging the DJi Air 2S battery that you showed in the video ?

We've been using these USB-C charging adapters for well over a year now without unusual battery degradation or any other issues, and in our experience, they've been a great option for increased charging flexibility.

In general, the Microsoft adapters are the best option. If you mean specifically for Miracast UIBC support, that's tougher now that ScreenBeam seems to have refocused on stationary conference room devices. A company called EZCast says their EZCast Ultra receiver supports Miracast UIBC (www-cdn.ezcast-pro.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Miracast-UIBC-implemented-on-EZCast-Ultra-0822.pdf), but we have not reviewed their devices, so cannot confirm.

Yes and it will increase performance a lot. It will take a lot of the work off the internal HDD and you will notice a huge decrease in load times on games. The internal HDD is only SATA 2 and the usb ports on xbox support faster speeds than the sata HDD

Nice video. One comment: I personally don't care very much as to whether or not the station display shows the charging rate in kW, since the car's display shows that. And ChargePoint is another very reliable network, although most of their fast chargers only provide 50 kW in my area (Maryland/DC).

Just used it. Works but I had to wrestle with it to get the nozzle off the stem. I lost a bunch of air the first time and had to refill it. The guage is off quite a bit compared to my dashboard guage. The Slime guage shows about 5lbs more pressure compared to my dashboard readout and handheld tire pressure guage. However it does work. If I thought I'd be using it a lot I'd buy a pricier one honestly but I doubt I'll need it much. Still it's definitely handy for my riding lawn mower if nothing else.

Yes but it all depends on the notebooks input power. Look at the power adapter. Ideally you’d like to see 19.0-21.0V This should work fine with a 20V PD trigger so long as the current draw is 5A or less. Obviously you’d need the appropriate charger then

@@Serkin76 Yep just match voltage.... On many notebooks (or at least I know this to be the case with Macbooks) they will charge at lower voltages and lower power input but of course very slowly. So if you bought a 12V adapter cable but your notebook can take 19.5V or 20V (same thing on laptops...anything within 5% of the voltage is good enough for most electronics) and you're only giving it 12V PD then you're losing out on a TON of charging power since 12V 3A is the max and 20V can go up to 5A....but you need a cable with an E-Marker for more than 3A and you need your charger to support all of that. The charger should have its supported PD voltages and current on the charger itself and on the box it came in. Too many people trying to use 20 or 30W chargers when they need 65W or 100W. Same thing goes for cables, too many people complaining that they aren't charging fast enough and they are using a cable without an E-Marker but their device can take up to 100W and their charger is capable of 20V 5A..but cable limits them to 20V 3A.

The two 9V profiles are different amps, so different watts. One is 9Vx2.22A=20W and the other 9Vx2.77A=25W. That’s why there’s two 9V profiles, 20W and 25W. More profiles means more devices are likely to charge at their optimal rate.

It would be nice to revisit this video and include Tesla Superchargers. The landscape is changing with the adoption of the Tesla "NACS" connector arrangement. I'm a Tesla owner and the user-experience is *better* than a gas station. I back into the charging stall, plug in the connector and walk away; no fiddling around with a phone app. I bought a CCS1 adapter so I could charge from a CCS charging station and was successful, but with more manual steps. I hope as time goes on, the other charging networks can interact directly with the vehicle to identify and authorize charging and not require a manual intervention through some other application. Perhaps in the future, you'll be able to join your car to the other charging networks and the vehicle will just be identified when plugged in. I'm a new Tesla EV owner and did a couple of road trips recently. I think that the metric for "goodness" isn't necessarily emulating the old gas pump user experience. Taking 15 minutes for a charging stop to hit the restroom, maybe grab a snack or drink means I'm really not sitting around waiting in practice. Also, getting over the range anxiety and charging from 10%-20% goes very much faster than trying to top-off. Slightly different habits yields a pretty good result for me. Thanks for the video!

Normally a TV is just a display and can only take a wired video (e.g., HDMI) input. To cast content wirelessly to the TV, you need a mechanism like the Miracast, Chromecast, or AirPlay protocols. As we mention in the video, many "smart TVs" and streaming sticks can act as receivers for one or more of those protocols, but they tend to perform poorly compared to, e.g., standalone certified Miracast receivers, so for those who intend to cast content regularly, a standalone receiver may be worth considering.

Apple unfortunately supports only AirPlay on their devices, so these Miracast receivers will not work with an iPad. You'll need an Apple TV for the best AirPlay casting experience, though streaming sticks like Roku also include some AirPlay support.

It plugs into your TV (or projector or other display) - attach the HDMI plug to an HDMI input on the TV, and the USB plug (which is for power) either to a USB port on the TV (if it has one) or to a USB power adapter (like a phone charger).

I purchased the 500 GB version of the ONN portable solid state drive. When I plug the drive into either of the USB 3.0 ports of my HP Pavilion HP 17-g121wm laptop, running Windows 10, the laptop makes a sound, as it does when its unplugged. Windows 10 is up to date except for Windows 10. Version 22H2. When I run Disk Management (diskmgmt), the ONN drive shows up as Disk1 with three partitions: 200 MB healthy (EFI system partition) 462.43 GB healthy (primary partition) 128mb (unallocated) How do I get a drive letter assigned to the ONN drive? Disk 0 is Windows (C:) HP TOOLS RECOVERY (D:)

Apologies for the late reply - in Disk Management, if you right-click on the respective partition, click on Change Drive Letter and Paths. That should bring up a dialog box allowing you to assign/change the assigned drive letter.
