Oh wow, never would've guessed that red wire was that thick. I was first attempting to do this with 14 AWG on my '57, and I now realize that was way too thin. I just got some 10 AWG wire since all the electronics in the cab are no thicker than that. Do you think that is still too thin?

@@af1132racing 10 is probably fine, the only way you’d draw enough to stress a ten awg with a basic normal output alternator is either a short, or nearly dead battery at full charging

@@jku72 Thank you for your help, sir! I took back the 10 awg and am going to get 8 awg later today and try that out. Just got my '57 on Saturday, my first classic. I love this thing so much; it has so much character.

Hi could you show the vacuum line to and from the wiper motor and the duel fuel pump , I’m Trying to work out the correct route

The one wire just needs a path to the battery positive post. If there’s a problem with your wiring, or you connect to the wrong terminal on the regulator it won’t work. Have to connect to the bat terminal.

Also where did you get the altenator?

Alternator from napa, the part number is shown in the video. Basic over the counter $50 dollar unit. The bracket - I think I got it off ebay, or any one of the classic truck part suppliers. “Chevrolet 235 alternator mounting bracket”. So yes its a 235, but also would work on a 216 or 261.

nice job... what size is the motor? I have a 235... also where did you get the bottom bracket? Thanks
