I really enjoyed this video! The underwater shots were really cool! I just moved to Hiawassee 2 years ago and have been frustrated plenty of days out on Chatuge. 2 weeks ago I got to go out with a friend and we were using these techniques and had great success.

Do you always wait longer for them to take it all in, or was this unusual? Normally with a Ned I do a 2 count then set the hook and get a very high hookup %

Fish Allatoona all the time and catch a lot of good fish. Only ones that call it the dead sea are those that don't know how to fish it.

Thanks for posting this. I have seen recommendations for lures with treble hooks and crank baits go hand in hand. I recently had a UL set up and had fiberglass rod, mono line, and a skirted jig with a plastic lure. The jib was bitten and then spit out by a small large mouth bass. Would the glass rods be good for spoons, spinners, and cranks with a single hook instead of a treble?

I think the word invasive is used to much and in a way to make it seem worse than it is. After milfoil growing for 40 years in my local lake can it really be any more invasive than bass or brown trout? Herbicides ruin fisheries and do nothing long term to the milfoil

Review regulations prior to fishing the waters surrounding Washington Island. 2024 revised regulations DO NOT allow any smallmouth bass fishing (including catch & release) until July 1st. Page 88/89 of the Wisconsin fishing regulations.

if this video was in 4k and up close to the lures the fluorocarbon would still be visible. in my opinion fluoro is just another way for people to make more money. if the fish aren't biting because of visibility then just downsize the line.

Yea cus a plastic lure with metal wires, clips, and dangling hooks is natural too. I use straight 65lb braid and catch everything from Bass, Walleye, Salmon, and finicky Trout 🤷🏻‍♂️

I love all of the so called "pros" making videos of best color line to use and they all have moss green for dark water... which is the worst color to use and can be seen if not next to some underwater grass....you fish with dark green bait in dark water do you not, and the fish can see that right.

I live three houses from the shore, two streets south of eleven mile. Early in the morning, I've seen so many bass boats at the foot of eleven mile that you could not count them all! A far cry from fifty plus years ago when keeping any fish from Lake St Clair was illegal. It was so bad, that for a while that they didn't even issue fishing licenses.

Its difficult to find spots that your lure willbstay on bottom on that river. The current is so fast that 3/4 ounce jigs won't even make it to the bottom especially when it's windy

Boat control is 100% of this, can maintain a 1/2 oz dropshot vertically in the heavy current from lake st Francis below the damn in the 5mph current and above the dam to where the “drifts” die off. It takes some practice for sure, east winds make it hard, north and south winds make it really hard to fish your spots

A great lesson on eel grass. We have plenty in Florida. As you know most of the water is 4 to 6 feet. Early morning is the best time with top water. Later, deeper with weightless senko.

as a life long resident of Michigan and living near Detroit. We never fished and especially ate anything from the Detroit river!!! Do you know what's flowing into that river upstream? I hope your not eating any of that fish. Take a boat ride up stream into Lake St. Clair and into the St. Clair river and see what Canada and the U.S. has along the shoreline . I grew up never going near Detroit for fishing, we all went north of Pt. Huron to fish for clean safe fish to eat. Now if you only sport fishing (catch and release ) fine. BUT DONT EAT THE FISH!

Very similar thing going on with gobys in the great lakes and even lake simcoe. The fish have transitioned off of smelts and switched to gobies. This (along with many factors) has led to a massive increase in bass size over the last few decades and a major increase in fishing pressure. The fish have a readily availble source of protein but are also far more easily caught due to this. There are pros and cons to everything.
