In the mountains you can have suddenly changing winds over cliffs, mountainsides etc. Not so here on that wide plain. Your plane needs to have margin to handle such changing winds. Your plane needs margin to handle unforeseen things. Neither he had, so don't try it in the first place.

Kinda went too fast for me to see what the hell it is cuz I know it ain’t no drone lol unless that was a chopper 🤷🏿♂️ to me it looked like a white round thing when the plane was doing the low fly over at around 5:01 its on the left side of the screen

No discussion of the useful load and payload vs range. Such an important aspect of a plane that is ignored. Also, for this money, the Cirrus jet seems like a much better value.

Did you know the very first pilot trained as a Pilot in the US Army was killed in a plane crash while flying as a passenger. The pilot survived the crash though he was injured. When it was shown the cause of death was head trauma and other than that the officer probably would have survived the crash. The army then changed the rules requiring all aircrews to wear helmets. The name of the fellow killed was Lt Thomas Selfridge. This was the first fatal airplane crash, it was the first airplane crash that was carefully investigated, and it was the first accident to spark a change to regulations that govern aviation.

I had a friend growing up who had some burn scars he got curtesy of a clueless pilot trying to fly an F-86. The pilot had been told not to over rotate on take off but he did it anyway. The jet fighter never left the the ground, over shot the runway, smashed through the airport fence, crossed a busy street, crossed a parking lot, and smashed into an ice cream parlor killing and injuring many people, mostly children, but he survived. Doing what you have been told not to do is bad for aviation.

Back around 2018, I converted over to an Air Wolf wet vacuum pump system. From my conversation with sales down there, they just weren't making them any longer. Not surprising considering the ascendancy of all electric digital systems. I love that wet vacuum pump. I understand that these engines, like my lycoming O-360, were originally certified with wet pumps, and sometime in the mid 1970's the dry pumps came along. Since they were originally certified with wet, airworthyness continuity is a slam dunk. I expect the wet pump to out live me. SC

I recognized the air strip immediately from the thumb nail. I lived there full time for 3.5 years. I first landed there in 1982. Everyone jumped in their own cars(locals) and took off. I stood there like an idiot with my passport in my hand. It was about 11AM and NO customs or immigration were around. In fact, NOBODY was there. Not a soul. I lugged my large bag to the top of the ridge and hitch hiked in to town (Gustavia) which was actually quite close. I put 75% down payment on a sailboat and moved aboard. By 1985, a full airport facility was built on the other side of the landing strip. Car rentals etc. I MISS the quaint 1982 St Barts. Oh, well. I sure was glad to experience it. The island was AMAZING until 1985 when extreme rapid construction and growth killed its charm. About 25 of us ex-pats left there in 1985. I moved to St Maarten Dutch West Indies, and then Tortola in the BVI

Maybe these old air cooled designs are obsolete. I have only seen 2 videos referring to engine failures on the Diamond DA-40NG which is water cooled, turbocharged and burns Jet-A. The Diamond design also places fuel between two wing spars, has replaceable crush blocks under seats to save your spine and cockpit/passengers get a 26G rated safety shell. Diamond is getting it right while Textron and Piper give us your Grandfather's airplanes. Why is that?

In my opinion... trained monkeys jacking around with mixture, trained monkeys NOT jacking around with the mixture, high horsepower/air cooled, disconnected from the motor so you can't hear when something "isn't right". Add in substandard inspection and maintenance by old rich dudes that have never had a drop of oil or dirt under their manicured fingernails and I bet you have the answer.

You can't fool the people who watch the sky. There are all types of chemicals and substances that are raining down on the population which are detrimental to the health of all living things being spewed from these planes. That is why people get sick and the food, water and air is so contaminated. This is done on purpose and for NO beneficial reason. We are being sprayed like bugs. That is also how they disseminate aerosolized bioweapons to make us all sick with stuff like "the flu and covid." We don't need geoengineering/chemtrails and neither does the planet. So STOP IT! Because it will kill you too fools (HAARP, NOA &DOD).

Was there any changes in the HIMS medical process. There are many pilots and controllers being grounded for a very few pilots that were mentally unstable intentionally crashing their planes. Just because someone may have at one point in the past was placed on a medicine for depression but has been off of it for many years should not cause them to give up flying. Private pilots in general can’t afford the costs of going through the process. Commercially it is also contributing to staffing shortages.
@PDZ11229 күн бұрын
It's not supercharged. The supercharger is only a scavenging pump. The turbo might supply a little excess air, which is good but you CANNOT supercharge a port valve engine! But marketing and most pilots don't know that, so keep calling it super/turbocharged. Not knocking the engine; two stroke Diesels are the way to go. But the management of this decades long saga has been a joke.

Not to be cynical but what is the price now - $100? 150k?
