whats that?? 33, 34 Axle zu Axle? Wouldnt shoot that bare. Ask a Shopowner about the problem with shooting bare with that short of a n a/a. You should have at least 38+ to avoid camlean and aftter a while of continues camlean, an exploding bow.

@ClaysfunАй бұрын
Brace height and string length? I have a 1974 model that I need to restring and original owner put a 43" string on it for a 10" brace height. It's not shooting bad but I want it better.

I've gotten older and now I'm hunting from the ground, This is an excellent, cheap and very light weight idea for a seat to hunt with.

You could replace the stabalizer with a 5/16x24 thread bolt. Thats what im thinking of doing for my bow when i get it and get it set up to run that phone mount. Ill be shooting bare as well
@BACKWOODSVETАй бұрын
That's a great idea. I actually ended up changing stabilizers and this one is way thinner and it seems to be working better for me.
@ItzhossАй бұрын
@BACKWOODSVET what stabalizer do you have on it now?
@BACKWOODSVETАй бұрын
It's the old stabilizer I used to shoot when I ran the ez v on it. I'll link the video
Just my opinion but you should have waited for a better angle.
@BACKWOODSVET2 ай бұрын
Yeah I hear what your saying there and hindsight is 20-20 but 2 minutes before that I had a doe on the same trail I wanted to shot and waited for that better shot and the trail they take gets too thick. That really is the only shot. I should have moved positions or just not shot honestly. But I have learned a lot from this so it is sad for the animal but I'm humbled by it and have learned a lot. Not glad it happened but making sure I don't miss out on this great experience to learn from.

14" and I think it's the perfect size. If tried smaller and it's a terrible sit.

Yeah it's a blast you will enjoy it. Especially if you have an extra bow to play with. There is tons of ways to shoot barebow. Even with a release. Check out bowhunters world in my comments he is an awesome source and shows different ways too.

What you think about your elite energy 35?
@BACKWOODSVET2 ай бұрын
Mine is the impulse 34. I like it but it is not very forgiving. It has a very short brace height so it is built for speed and not so much forgiving. It is pretty smooth draw cycle compared to my elite tempo. That is a brute of a draw cycle.

Hay good video. I have been hunting this season with recurve bows. I'm planning on setting up a compound like that. Is your bow short or does a axle to axle matter?
@BACKWOODSVET2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and thanks for the response. Recurves are fun and super tough so good for you on trying that out. I did that for years I know how hard that can be. As for this compound... Mine is 34" axle to axle but if you go watch the Fitzgeralds they shoot even shorter bows. I personally have not so I couldn't say but they're pretty damn good. I'll link a video to some of their stuff for you in another reply.
Those are my favorite barebow channels to watch and a video from each to get you there. All of them better than me. But I'm here for any questions I can help with as well.

I was hunting Sugar Grove West Virginia a few years ago. Spring gobber season walked up on a mama bear and 2 cubs. Mama bear and one cub took off suddenly she stoped I heard a noise to my left 10 yd from me was a cub going up a tree and it started to cry. All I could do was pull my phone out take pictures and hope she wouldnt try to kill me. I had a good wind. I never took my eyes off her slowly backed out. She screamed at me a couple times. Made a couple other noises.I slowly backed out of there . A little while later, daddy bear showed up. He kept following me keeping a short distance I decided to go back to the cabin at that point. It was an awesome experience, though it could have turned bad when the cub stared crying It is still my most favorite experience ever. I really didn't think about the danger. It was so awesome to get that close. I talked very softly to her. Told her I would not hurt her babies. Let me get my pictures and I'm gonna go on and leave you alone. I do think she called the male bear. She made some clicking noises that I have never heard a bear make. Then he showed up and tracked me he followed me all the way to the cabin When I crossed the Bull Pasture river he stood up on his hind legs and let me know keep my ass on the other side of the river When a bear growls like that, it's pretty awesome.
