Not being able to tell the difference between the Alessio jerseys and the CSC jerseys is absolutely pathetic. British commentary will always be for the blind since they clearly don't know what they're looking at!

This is when i first learned of the TOUR .....i was in AWE .....bought all the parts for a lightweight bike and assembled it in 1986 and rode almost daily and many days before and after work...the fitness of the tour riders is unbelievable and i consider the TOUR to be the most dificult athletic event in the world. Seeing the bikes now it seems like ancient history 😊

I am going to go against the grain here but when English speaking riders and American bikes started to make a presence the Tour de France lost a hell of a lot of it's mystique and Europeanism.

33.52 "Indurain never goes to the front. Never sets the pace" .... cut to 35.05 and you see Indurain grinding on with Rominger on the wheel for the rest of the stage even letting Rominger take the win. Phil Liggett always hated Indurain so much 🤣😂

I'm a Contador hater as much as anybody, but in this case it was Andy's own fault. He launched an attack himself and messed up his shifting, causing the chain to drop. By then the others were counter-attacking and you can't expect them to just stop and wait in that moment. It's not like he got a flat or got hit by a bystander. His own actions caused his chain to drop. That's racing. If you over-rev your F1 engine and blow it up, do you expect the other drivers to stop and wait while you change cars?

The best job Armstrong did is to see himself lying left right and centre a decade later and not feel any remorse or embarrassment.

We can accept that PEDs are part of cycling as much as expensive bicycles and skinny guys. At every moment in time, the figureheads of the UCI consistently get caught cheating. Pantani, Ulrich, Contador, Vinokurov. I just read 90% of the peloton this year, 2024, might be on the juice. However, there are levels to cheating and its consequences. Lance Armstrong cheating and lying ruined the lives of others, in his selfish attempt to cling on to fame and undeserved money. The Live Strong foundation and the US Postal Service suffered discredit that he could have avoided, but he put himself first over all those people and causes. I can't admire that, and I don't think that him, or any cheater for that matter, would have accomplished nothing without the drugs, ever
