If somebody want to steal my bike?)

Before I could even finish swiping my bus pass through the fare box machine, this driver says in an accuser's tone, "Got your reduced fare card?" It was in my other hand ready to show to him ONCE I had swiped my pass. Impatient, rude, and accusatory bus driver should be corrected. Still other drivers have told me, "We aren't supposed to ask to see it" or when I show it to them, "You don't have to show that." I tell them except that one driver gave me a very hard time about it one day.

What's the maximum tire size that will fit in a rack? The tires on my beach cruiser are thicker the ones in the video.

I totally figured this out solely because of this video. Phew! Next time I'll try putting my bike on the inner slot of the rack like some of the commenters suggested. I was super anxious, but it really worked. Thank you so, so much for making this! The combination of public transit + bike is so much more powerful than either one alone.

How do you keep someone from stealing your bike? I doubt the bus driver can remember who has a bike? Like if someone getting off at a stop before you says "I need to get my bike" they can just grab yours and the bus pulls away before you can do anything... or if they have a crappier bike they put on the bike rack and grab yours leaving theirs?

@freak, shit happens. If you are so freak out, you can: 1. Not bring the bike on the bus. 2. Get a cheap Bus bike. 3. Always sit up front and watch your bike. 4. If someone without a bike grabs yours, you can yell and alert the driver; And maybe the driver will run the thief over, probably not. 5. If someone with a crappy bike grabs yours, you would still have a bike, right? :) Happy riding! :) @johnnyvegas5681 is correct to load in the space closest to the bus first to allow others to load their bikes easier.

@@michaelmlee2964 The thing is, I want to (/need to) go to places that are further than my stamina and my ebike's battery range. It is only by a combination of the bus and ebike that I can get to these places (because the cost of Uber or Lyft would be ridiculous, like $150 one way). If someone takes my ebike and leaves me a regular bike (I have yet to see anyone else on my local bus routes with an ebike) I would not be able to get there, since it's beyond how far I can ride without the motor assistance. For SOME of these trips I am able to rent an ebike once I get off public transit, but for many of the trips, taking a pricey ebike on the bus would be the only option. So like, it's easy to say "just don't take your bike on the bus" but that's limiting where people can go. And it's easy to say "just buy a bus bike" but not everyone can afford that. And... there is only one of my local bus drivers that I think would be willing to run a thief over lol. The rest of them, maybe if the thief starts to ride the bike away in front of them (if the way they pass me while I'm on my bike is any indication...)

Thanks for this tutorial. I just bought myself a bike recently as an alternative to getting around. I'm just a little anxious though especially with these drivers who think they own the roads driving 100mph. And people wonder why accidents happen.

They need to make the racks so you don’t have to pick the bike up for the weak, older, etc. Maybe put in pull out ramps or something. With people riding the bus, there should be a backup rack on the back so you don’t have to wait for the next bus and potentially be late for work or something important.

What do I do if all the of the slots are taken up on the bike rack when I try to board? Do I just have to wait for the next bus? Also, do most people lock their bike to the bus rack? I'm a little concerned someone might just grab it off the rack while the bus is at a stop.

okay I was watching Shameless and spotted bike racks on a bus, surprised to find out that's really a thing.... but about this, this "representation" of yours, Pre-K level at best... Who is this "I want to be constantly I looked at, and hopefully spotted from across the city dude" Yellow short, bow tie and blue glasses, really? isn't there anyone more representative out there, this ain't no hipster show... Such things have to be professionally made instead you make me want to look away. Okay little update, because I thought I was tight for no reason... But I checked the channel and ohh boy I have disturbing news for you, which could be of benefit to you, depending on how you will react to it. If you ever want to figure out why you're campaign isn't successful at best? Maybe you want to think twice before putting those bright colorful individuals in front of the camera, don't get me wrong they could totally participate and write a script or something but, and this is a big one so bear with me, PEOPLE DON'T LIKE TO BE SHOVED IN THEIR FACE A BRIGHT COLORFUL BANNER-LIKE OBJECTS, that's just irritating my eyes... He's probably have interesting personality but it's not the right time not the right place, it's like he's begging for attention(let's be honest nobody likes begging)... step up your game this was supposed to be a work of reputable establishment not a kindergarten show! No wonder there's only 205 subs, majority of which are definitely those who were involved and are obligated to sub not to be outcasts. Here's my five cents of 1000% honest unfiltered opinion, took me quite some time, make the most of it. Be well y'all!

Lime recommends helmets and a lot of cities have begun implementing these laws. In regards to unfair enforcement, that is an unfortunate side effect of this particular life saving law. Defund the police.

@@jeanieologie One thing that's much more dangerous than falling over is getting hit by a car. Helmet laws discourage bike ridership, meaning more people are choosing to drive and making the roads more dangerous for cyclists. By making it easier for everyone to cycle, it makes it safer. Realistically, we should just be looking at the bike capital of the world and copying everything they're doing, including no helmet laws.

I support wearing helmets. In fact, a helmet saved my life. I was on a challenging ride at about 9:00am, and the next thing I knew it was 4am the next day and I was in the hospital with no recollection how I got there. I had a concussion and a broken bone, from which I easily fully recovered. My bike helmet was broken in two, my skull was not. I am a strong advocate for helmets, and enforcing the law would save lives.
