It's like that story of the cave. You know when the prisoners just watch shadows and then one escapes and comes back and tells them the truth about the outside world but they don't believe it having never experienced it themselves.

Such a great show....for my taste much better than the mini series which was a little bit boring (2 instead of 3 parts would have been enough). But the season which came later was so good ... so much happened every episode (storylines which would have span on "Dallas" or "Dynasty" for weeks or a whole season were finished after 2 or 3 episodes). It was so amasing I couldn´t stop watching ...

It also explores transience, ageing and coming to terms that one’s youth is fleeting, one’s body may age but Tempe soul does not. There is something about grasping for the younger to feel alive and youthful oneself. It’s a very interesting exploration of female sexuality, erotic desire, and the loss of one’s value because of age.

I watched this show in 1986 and I’ve just re-watched it in 2022. Still loving it but hating the ending, so glad I found this last five minutes where they reworked the ending.
