I'll never get why gun vids insist on doing a safety check on camera. Just do it before filming.

4:20 why bother shooting a 7" handgun at 7 yards? It's more of a 25-75 yard gun with those nice sights and long barrel.

I really like the two-tone SIG-Sauer P228 fitted with a Wilcox Industries UITC IR/laser sight designed by Ellis Props & Graphics since the pistol was seen in 1995's Virtuosity. Awesome handgun! 😊

It looks pristine. I am betting the bluing marks on the barrel is from someone racking the slide a couple of dozen times, if those are bluing marks. Anyway, congrats on a great find, I hope you never fire it for posterity's sake.
@taylorbambicoАй бұрын
CZ Custom noted the marks on the barrel may have been from when it was forged. Or as you said, whenever the slide was racked from 1982 until now. It is intriguing this Pre B went over 40 years without even one magazine run through it. And yes, much as I would prefer to send at the most a hundred rounds downrange, I will be preserving this Earlier Second Model CZ 75.

Good video, laughed my ass off! Love my Mk IXX Deagle! The one I currently have is in .44 and I like it much better that the .50 I had about 15 years ago. 100% true about the polished chrome finish. I spent more time wiping fingerprints off of my .50 than ever shooting it.

VP70 is kinda weird in that is was simultaneously ahead of its time and dated when it came out. Having a 18 round mag polymer striker fired handgun was pretty revolutionary. Shame HK knee capped it by having it be strait blowback, with an awful trigger (which I wouldn't be surprised was because of its 3 round burst mechanism), and no slide lock. There really were just objectively better handguns you could have at the time.

Yes, it's a bit "hit and miss" with the magazines, because they changed them slightly with the B-model. Not only do they fall free, because they changed the curved leaf spring to a flat piece of regular steel (which usually doesn't really cause any issues), but the shell of the mag is also a bit more rounded at the "nose" where it meets the feed ramp. First model and Pre-B mags are a bit more squared off. That small difference in shape/measurements is what can cause problems, when trying to use any Pre-B mags in more modern 75s and vice versa. As to why the mags didn't lock back the slide in the RETRO: that's really odd. But only strengthens my opinion that the RETRO is an overpriced piece of hot "collectors" garbage. And from what I know, people are _mostly_ wrong about slides of the first model breaking. They did, but only during testing. And never the forged ones, but only cast frame prototypes with the same narrow frame design at the front. CZ always wanted to cast slides and frames for the 75 (it's cheaper and faster), but couldn't quite figure it out in time. During some experimentation from '77 to '79, they learned that, in order for the cast parts to last, they had to beef up the front of the frame and slide a bit, making the rail longer in the process (hence the Pre-B' s design). Another issue was that they had to outsource the casting process during that time. The Spanish company they contracted used the wrong steel for some reason, which weakened the parts of _very_ early Pre-Bs and caused them to fail. Yet, to my knowledge, none of them ever made it over the counter of any stores and into the public. In late 1980/early '81, CZ had their problens sorted out and could now also produce castings in-house. _All_ the first model 75s were made from forged steel until they switched production to the Pre-B. And that with the "series of 200 units" is also often either a mix-up or something got lost in translation during four decades of playing telephone. CZ produced a small batch of pre-mass production 75s, which they had to send out to authorities for proofing, testing and evaluation in order to get green light for mass production from the state. A few were also sent out to chosen dealerships and journalists. They're easily distinguishable by their date stamp ("75") and serial number range (from about 1000 up to 1200). While those pistols were already out and away, CZ kept tinkering with the design of the final product. That's why a lot of the 75 dated pistols have triggers, sights and maybe a few other small parts that are different from the mass produced ones. Serial number range for mass production started 1977 from 10100, and went until 1980 up to 25???. Source: Mostly David Pazdera's book "CZ 75 : Příběh české legendy" from 2020 (ISBN: 9788024270883). DISCLAIMER: Translated it from Czech to German, so there's a chance that I also didn't get it a 100% right. 😅
