I have my Class A CDL permit for combo vehicle w/air brakes but I am a KS resident & there is nothing like this service here, but there needs to be. I do have some experience driving a 10 spd manual & I know the Cummings engine for pretrip best. If I had a truck & trailer I feel that I could pass the tests no problem. I have also tried to look up services like this in Oklahoma but they state you must have a Oklahoma DL or permit & mine is for KS...smh. It's like this state don't want folks to be able to get up out of here...lol. I just don't want to owe some company $7,000 or more or be restricted to contracts with no competes in them. Why doesn't this exist in every state?

I have a curious question for you, can you drive a vehicle if it does not pass the air break test but, a mechanic says it's okay to drive. Meaning there is like a leak in the airlines and it is causing the second air tank to go to 60psi in about a minute but, when its on it stays in it operating range.

just FYI, most all trailers have air tanks. Also remember that the reason for slow air build is not due to the trailer tank, because if the red knob is not in you are not supplies air to it. I have been a diesel mechanic for 20 years. Love the video. I am by no means badgering you I promise. Also l, in most states they require you to test each brake valve individually. just some FYI. be safe and keep rolling

I got to CDL Test Truck in Waco on a Monday morning around 11 am, watched a class do its backing tests and road test, went out with an instructor that afternoon and evening, took my road test the next day, and passed it with a 100%. 26 hours after getting there I went from CDL permit to full-blown CDL. But know I used to have a CDL and have driven class 8s before. This refresher school is for real, but there are some things you need to know. Don't be afraid of these, as this is still a great deal, especially if you've already paid $5,000+ for a driving school in the past (like I did). You will be given the choice to pay or not pay a no-deductible, no-fault insurance jack, which is a good thing to add and I recommend it. It's $200.00. Rental of the truck is $250.00, and the DMV brake and road tests add another $250.00. I took all the written tests on my own before I went to Waco, and I passed those with nearly perfect scores. All you have to do is study for the written tests, practice each test through websites such as thetruckersforum, take the tests, get the learner's permit, and go to CDL Test Truck. Your instructor at CDL TT will tell you what you're doing wrong on a "practice" road test, and if you listen to him and do what he says, you'll do fine. I got my CDL in about a day and had a job offer with a good company about 3 days later. It's a good way to go if you want to get your CDL back after a (long) while of not having it, absolutely. I start at my new driving job making about 43 cents per mile, 2100 miles a week, with $8,000 in performance bonus and $2500 sign-on, in about 5 days. Not bad for 700 bucks. It would have been about 500, but I took the insurance option. I think you will HAVE to be a resident of Texas with a Texas license. That's about the only catch.

The Texas driver license office, Texas Department of Public Safety aka TXDPS, will NOT put a restriction on the CDL if you use a automatic transmission.
