Leaking PAG oil via the condensation release tube under the car. Also used a AC sniffer tool that picked up leaking refrigerant from the HVAC vents.

Can you reuse the old connecting rods?
@hardlymovingpro
@hardlymovingpro 39 минут бұрын
If no spun or worn out rod bearings. When those bearings go bad, a lot of stress is on those rods as they reciprocate on the crankshaft causing huge amounts of stress. This may cause the rod(s) to slightly bend. Also the rod's bearing holder can get worn out / damaged.

My kids dad took my car other night and wrecked it. He said he hit a cement median and the car was pushed up a good 5ft into the air on the driver side and came back down hard but still managed to some how drive it to a parking lot where my tow truck recovered it from. He said a car came into his lane and almost head on collision and he avoided it by turning into the median. Obviously this didn't make me very happy and I was furious w him. Luckily I thought, he's a mechanic owns his own auto repair shop, and fixes everyone else's cars for a living, so this shouldnt be a hard thing for him to fix. My brand new tires on drivers side front and back where completely mangled to the rim barley even hanging on. My drivers side door would only open half way and after he's worked on it for a day I can now see the drivers side fender is replaced, good start...but i also see that the frame around that fender on the top is buckled and bent upwards in a small section of about 1 inch. Needs to be pulled out but think that'll be solved with a winch and my oat tree out front. My issue right now is, he bailed out on finishing the job of fixing my car he wrecked. I only have liability he doesnt have insurance and itd be a tough one to do unless i report my car stolen, which ok ya im pissed but hes my kids dad and i really dont want to have to do that. I have a little experience in mechanics but I just am not feeling confident in putting this new used from a u pull it lower a arm he has sitting here. I've got my 9yr old son I have to drive to school every morning and I need to know for fact my car is safe to drive, I can't risk messing it up. Is there anywhere anyone who can help me and not charge me full price since I already have the parts and just need help installing it? Is this something a mechanic shop might do for me?

I finally did this today on my 2013 Ford Fusion. It seems to be very loud and I forgot to put the foam stuff back under the fuel rail so not sure if that is it. This is a great method. I'd add that if using an impact put super glue on the nut before putting a socket on it. A lot of guys at the shop struggle with this method cause sometimes the locknut was previously overtightened and the first turn strips the bolt.

As the bleeder valve where you are applying vacuum is on the top side of the caliper you may still have old fluid in the caliper at the lower levels. You have vastly improved the quality of the fluid even if you don't get 100% of the old fluid out.

Hello sir , nice Instructive video as usual 🫵🫶🙏 . I got a new compressor & a new condensor , it came with oil & expansion valve , it says 3.5 oz oil which goes in the compresor , it says 2 oz oil goes in the condensor ,the condenser came with the filter and valve installed, also I kept the compressor upside down so the oil lubricates the seal . I have not installed anything yet , I was waiting for the part , this is my question sir: I am trying to flush the evaporator , since the expansion valve is attached to it , would you please👌🙏🙌 guide me which side of the evaporator hose should I flush? , I mean the side expansion valve attached to evaporator or the other side . I mean inlet or outlet. My car is a scion xa 2006 . I have asked you before & you have been so useful except the last time you referred me to take my scion to a shop . but I found the problem . & was able to fix it, still I really like all your Instructive videos and I appreciate any help you can give & I admire you alot . I thank you & GOD SPEED 👌🙏🙌🫵🫶.
@hardlymovingpro
@hardlymovingpro 4 күн бұрын
I wouldn't advise flushing the evaporator at all. Any debris from a failed compressor would get captured within the condenser which would warrant a flush of the condenser. But since you're replacing the condenser, flushing is a mute point.

If the cylinder bores are scored, it is difficult to restore them. This might mean more aluminum being shaved off, resulting in a new failure.
@hardlymovingpro
@hardlymovingpro 5 күн бұрын
The steel cylinder sleeves can be bored up to .5 mm; usually enough to remove deep scoring. You can then use oversized pistons and rings.

I rebuilt a 2.0 turbo engine in a 2011 Sonata last year. Had a warped cylinder head and block (from over heating) and the piston rings were all stuck. The crank was still good along with the block's bores. The major difference with the 2.5 was the oil pump design. It doesn't have balance shafts. External to the engine, the turbo's impeller shaft was bent. I purchased a new turbo impeller unit online for around $100 and swapped it out from the exhaust manifold. I also replaced the waste gate actuator which was also under $100. So the machine shop decked the head and block, polished the crankshaft journals, honed the block bores and cleaned up and checked the cylinder head valves for leaks. Put everything back together and the car's been running fine ever since. The idle is a little rough compared to my 2.5L 2010 Camry, but put the "pedal to the metal" and this Sonata moves!
