You've managed to create something truly unique and experimental! As a filmmaker, I am curious if you would allow the use of this / sampling the sounds in a non commercial short film?

what tuning is this ? can you do sth with an electric guitar ?
@indiefilmandmusicАй бұрын
Sure Electric guitar would be great to make noise with. The tuning is a complete mystery. It's generally flappy strings.

@@indiefilmandmusic oh i thought you had a specific tuning ! would be great to see sth with electric guitar and then have steve vai perform it ! do you know a greek composer jani christou ? he would call this music meta music

Brilliant Score! As many have said, I'm sure that Jerry Goldsmith would have been honored and impressed. It's at once a love letter to him (and Penderecki) but still very much it's own animal, with that unique Korven voice (which I've adored ever since The VVitch!). I was already excited to see the film, but only learned on the bus ride to the theater on opening night that you had composed the score. That drove my anticipation through the roof! I honestly cannot understand why the film didn't do better at the box office - the trailers were beautifully understated and on pointe and compelling. It's truly a phenomenal film, the best I've seen in years. Perhaps it had something to do with it coming out so closely on the heels of Immaculate (a fine film in its own right, but nowhere near the quality of The First Omen). It's a tragedy that more people didn't get out to see it on the big screen. I made a point of seeing the film twice when it was in cinemas. It's a brilliant film overall, and an auditory experience just made for a huge sound system. I even snuck in early to my second viewing, just to listen to the the suite play over the end credits of the previous showing(!). Speaking of which... will that suite (or any other longer suites from the score) ever be made available? I immediately bought the soundtrack on Amazon as soon as it came out, and I love it, but was a little disappointed that there were no extended suites.

Truly incredible music and the wait for the famous Ave Satani at the end of the film, and twice, I think Jerry Goldsmith would be really proud of the work from mister Korven.

Hearing Jerry Goldsmith's theme in this new score is amazing! I'm sure he would be so proud of your newest haunting work! Can't wait to see that movie soon! Also, question, did you also conduct the score? Other than that, loving it already!
@indiefilmandmusic3 ай бұрын
Cool. Thanks! Nope, conducting is not for me. I'd much rather be in the mix room listening. Besides, conductor's spend their lives developing that skill. I would just be a hobbyist with a big ego.

The second part with the strings is absolutely wonderful. A little bit of Bartok inspiration (no lifts, just the vibe) which I adore. I knew you would produce an incredible score for this film. It seems to encompass a lot of breadth.

is there a longer version of this?
@indiefilmandmusic3 ай бұрын
That's a real complement. People usually want LESS of what I do, certainly not more. Alas, that's all I have for you though.
I think goldsmith would be proud this film must have the music feel of the trilogy if it doesn't have that it just would not work the trailer doesn't show this out of any I seen. But now hearing this I am fully happy to see the film in theaters

There has been so much thought that’s gone into the selection and composition of the musical score of Resident Alien. So appreciated ! This was also such a creative real seeing/hearing the production of the spaceship sounds. What is the name of the violin music played when Eleanor? (as a child) with her father in the lighthouse) see the alien spaceship that stops all the clocks?
