Personally I'd mix the two can contents in a dixie and deal with the cleaning up. I was wondering how much you heated up the cans as you didn't need a glove to hold them. You could probably rent out the back to four or five stealth campers and make a few quid out of the truck. Is that DAF a 4WD? Enjoyed the vid, you're out there getting it done, mate.

Hi and sorry for the late reply buddy, been off here a little while on work commitments. next time around ill be doing that apart from the breakfast one of course lol, the cans were heated up just enough to warm the contents & stir it up if any bits were cold, the top of the cans were pretty warm but not enough to burn my finger tips. Thats not a bad idea actually might think of that 🤔, i have cleaned it up since as it was a mess in the back! Yea mate its the Daf t244, permanent 4x4 it is the next truck to be issued after bedford MJ Thank you for the support mate im hoping to get back out there soon enough, its been a month now & need to All the best 👍🏻

How much did your load weigh? I'd say easily 20kg (44lb). None of it looked lightweight. Please tell me the slabs of wood you used as a table were already at the site... Liked and subbed.

@theblackcountrywanderer7523 Жыл бұрын
The load was roughly 22kg, most of it was mainly canvas this time round but i will be investing in lighter sleep equipment, keeping it military mind, The wood used was oak at my friends field, he used them as seats at the bottom, i took them up top Thank you for the support & subscribing More videos to come

@@theblackcountrywanderer7523 I have to or three set ups. One all military surplus; one as light and comfy as I can make it and one that goes in the car and has everything plus some. The ex-miliary stuff is great but not the lightest. I like the nostalgia it brings out; takes me back 35-45 years to when I was a young'un

quick question that you may have coverd in the video, how waterproof is the f1 tent and where did you buy yours from?
@fatmanfaffing4116
@fatmanfaffing4116 Жыл бұрын
I have the F1 Desert variant and it leaks at the point where the door tapes are sewn. Otherwise it is great and you can see it on my channel in the wet weather tent test. It was sold to me from a surplus place in New Zealand and they stressed it was not waterproof or for rainy weather but it works great except at those seams. I will seam tape them and all will be ok.

@@fatmanfaffing4116 Yes ive seen a few reviews and they all say the same thing. There around £50 here in the uk so i was thinking of betting one but there are other alternatives like just getting a waterproof cavas bivi sleeping bag all-in-one type thing
@fatmanfaffing4116
@fatmanfaffing4116 Жыл бұрын
@@wiberly661 Bivis are good but no room in them and getting in and out in the rain usually requires a tarp overhead for cover... so just tarp up and have a bivi bag to protect the sleep system. I hammock camp now with a Helsdon Hammock tent. Can be set up on the ground but awesome slung between trees.
@theblackcountrywanderer7523
@theblackcountrywanderer7523 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question, the f1 tent has a rubberised base which is 100% waterproof, the canvas i would say shower proof but would need to be sprayed, it does come with a rain cover which can reduce the ingress of water into the canvas Ive had this for many years & bought to from my local army surplus shop in exeter uk
