Hate to say it but it sounds kind of boring. I’ve heard the ship has felt kind of empty on many sailings. But she’s a beautiful ship and glad to hear the food and service was so great.

Having experienced both the Yacht Club and the Haven on several ships, the Yacht Club is by far superior. NCL is really penny pinching their Haven guests.

@atomicrancher37452 күн бұрын
I’ve done both and enjoyed them equally. Living in the Seattle area it’s so easy to just jump on an Alaska cruise several times a year. NCL also now does 10 night Alaska voyages on Bliss which I’ve scheduled for April. Prices are reasonable for balcony and best of all…..No crowds like summer and very few families with kids make it even more enjoyable.

Alaska is more about fishing industry and military bases and natural resource industry.. still not regarded as big tour industry as Norway has done. Inside Passage part is like Norway. Aleutian Islands part is like Iceland. Mainland Interior part is like Siberia. In nature wise, Alaska has more diverse aspects than single Norway. Just...lack of tourist budget for Alaskan government.

Yup. Explora is basically 1 entire Yacht Club ship experience! But with many restaurants and all included🎉 Its most definitely about pure relaxation, indulgence and enjoying all the port visits/itenaries. Its not a family fun ship. Its a luxurious transport. I wouldn't take young kids on it, if you're wanting fun at sea.

We sailed out of Seattle. Typically we stay by Pikes Market since it is close to the NCL port. however, depends on your cruise line as they sail out of different areas.

Expecting some of the shops to already be closed, but will most likely hike quite a bit. Hoping to get a few of these excursions in, but wont be real upset if we cant. Really just hoping the wrather isn't too cold,wet and foggy. We did splurge on the balcony, so we have extra warm clothing just in case. Keep up the great videos!

I have been traveling with Celebrity many many times and travel with MSC once on my 50th birthday. Let's say that will be my first and last time with MSC. As soon as we enter the ship, it smell like Pinesol, not a scent I expect on a cruise. The interior was worn out and the food was so bad on the buffet as well as the fine dining. We were also disappointed with the MSC excursions. We booked an Spanish speaking excursion. They mixed it with a French group. The French guide spoke more than the Spanish one so we couldn't understand anything of what they were saying, I would not say MSC is on the same class as Celebrity. One does not need to book The Retreat to enjoy the cruise experience.

Such a shame that your husband wasn't brought up properly. Why do a lot of American think that it is ok the wear their hats whilst eating in a restaurant of any kind. It is the height of bad manners. I am surprised and disappointed that one of the staff on Apex didn't ask him to remove it. I am travelling on Apex soon and I hope that my fellow guests will know that wearing hats whilst eating is a totally unacceptable.
@lindsayslivealittle10 күн бұрын
Trying to judge an upbringing based a hat at breakfast or lunch is very judgmental. Hats are not allowed at dinner and he will not wear a hat when it is not allowed. It is also bad manners to judge a person so please refrain from judging. We hope you enjoy the Apex but please do not judge other passengers enjoying the vacations that worked hard to pay for with their income.

We have done the Haven several times and Yacht club several times. Yacht Club is so much better, Haven is boring, same food everyday, no outside bar like the One pool deck and I totally disagree with the food being better in the Haven. As far as overall experience, Yacht club wins hands down. Not sure if this has changed but Haven has no priority boarding unit you get thru security, which means you have to wait on line and then go into the haven waiting area. Yacht Club has a separate area to board only for yacht Club and you bypass all the lines, same getting off.

You keep telling people which mistakes not to make, yet you keep making the HUGE mistake of cruising NCL to Alaska. The absolute worst cruise line for Alaska (speaking from having cruised there at least 6 times). Cruise Holland America or Princess and you’ll really experience Alaska as it should be.
@lindsayslivealittle13 күн бұрын
We compare what we have been fortunate enough to do so far. Honestly for true Alaska you need to just travel there and visit without a cruise.

@lindsayslivealittle13 күн бұрын
We will do a complete review and compare a bit in a week or so. But overall it is just another level. While you may not get a butler service in the entry level, the entire ship feels like you are in the Haven or Retreat no matter where you are.

I just booked a bucket list cruise for my 75 yo mom and myself. We’ll be going in early September and I got a balcony room. I have booked the White Pass railroad, but I am unsure if there is anything else someone with limited mobility can do. I’m also now fearful of us not being able to tour the port towns. Any tips on accessible excursions?

Many of the bus tours are the best option for limited mobility. As you are looking for excursions, many of the options will specifically call out accessibility.
