Watch out for pit bulls and other dogs off leash in that area. Carry something to defend yourself. Last Monday morning around 8AM, my 20 pound Jack Russell terrier (who was on a leash) and I were attacked by a gray pit bull (named Bella who was not on a leash) on the East Palisades Trail at the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta. I thought we were going to die when it happened. It was a large type of pit bull. I had already picked up my dog and was trying to shelter her in my arms, when the pit bull knocked us to the ground and grabbed my dog's foot. The dog was on top of us. The owner was able to pull her off. This is the reason it's against the law to have your dog off leash anywhere - on any trail - even in the water - within the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The dog's owner was very sorry. She replied that many people have their dogs off leash here and she suggested this might not be the best place for me to walk my dog. 30 minutes later, we ran into them again and pit bull was still off leash. I later call the Ranger. Nothing he could do since I didn't have any way to identify the owner. He said it is a problem and people seem to think it's OK to have dogs off leash here - and that they share that misinformation on social media. He said he will request that Rangers patrol the area more often. My dog was bitten. Took her to the emergency vet and I think she will be OK. I understand there at not enough Rangers to patrol the area constantly. But more signage might help. There are signs in the parking lot, but you really have to read through them thoroughly to learn that you are not to have dogs off leash.

We have red sand in Texas, but we call it dirt. Fake flamingos, really? I am obviously too old for Maui. I'll stick with Oahu. 40 years younger, it might be a different story.

My first and only time going here I got injured, but it was all my fault and I knew the risks..After jumping from the cliffs and the wooden platform all day, I finally decided to try out the zipline..Doing so would ended up being my first and last mistake... As i let go of the zipline , the speed, and angle of descent sent me entering the water face first..Once I hit and was submerged about 10ft under water, i felt an excruciating pain in my upper body and hit with such force I almost knocked myself out but I knew if I blacked out I was as good as dead. I ended up resurfacing and swimming to shore..The whole time I was making my way to the bank my upper body was in pain, at first I was afraid that i busted my stomach or something and had enternal bleesing..I reached the shore which was about 75ft from where I landed in the water I sat down and made sure I was spitting up blood or anything..Luckily i hadn't and I hand no surface trying like you see on some people..After a few min the pain eased off a bit so I swam back out to the raft my friends where on swam around for bit then helped drag the raft to shore so we could leave.. An hour later I was back home and had to pick up my 3 yr old daughter when I did she accidently kicked my stomach area and the pain was back again..After about another hour had passed before i decided to go for he ER because of the pain I was in..Long story short I ended up having a chipped tooth, busted lip, a sprained neck, a cracked sternum, protruding disc in my back, 2 broken ribs, a lacerated liver, and all my internal organs where bruised..I got all those injuries by going down a zipline at bout 25 mph and hitting from a height of around 40ft..I never blamed the owner of the Blue Cove because it was my decision to do what i did and I paid the price...Water can be dangerous, but in the end it's your choice if you wanna take the risk or not, but nobody except yourself should be held liable for your mistake....

I'm surprised with the millions of dollars the government recieve from tourism during a year in Hawaii, that they haven't improved roadways throughout the major islands and not make them slightly more comfortable to travel. A one way bridge? Seriously? That's unacceptable.

You need to read your car rental agreement. They all say, “Do Not Drive This Car On The Back Road To Hana”. You will be fined by the rental agency. How you ask? The car rental agencies have cameras along the road.

Would love to be in Pensacola. Currently staying in mid Tennessee with family. Would love for all of us to move here though. I just can't stand being locked up in the cold during winter. I see pensacola still has their cold days/nights but the winters seem much milder than where I'm at now. And I just love what I've seen of the beach atmosphere.
