$400 - $800 seems to be the going rate for American made titanium folders these days unfortunately. The one in the video is listed at $495 before you find our super secret discount code at the end of the video. $545 was for the DLC version. I think there is room for improvement regarding the blade finish and there is no lanyard loop.

Absolutely worth $600+! The machining is way more impressive and intricate than my Springfield 9mm that was $100 less. All joking aside, great video and very helpful reassembly tips :)

I've been trying to find replacement springs for the combat troodon - I don't stay in the US so getting from Microtech directly isn't really an option. I've found utx-85 springs and ultratech springs though, is it possible to use an ultratech spring in the combat troodon?

I think the Ultratech springs are too short unfortunately, I'm not sure where you can find replacement springs, perhaps get a donor spring from a fake model but it likely won't perform the same.

Mine arrived yesterday, and I'm very happy with it. It's my first OTF, so I worried about the deployment somewhat, but I'm enjoying how smooth and dialed in the action is. No chance of accidental "click", but I don't have to bear down on it to use it.

I have both a QD Scarab SE and a Colossus Tanto. The Heretic is my preferred carry due the action is similar to my Combat Troodon but in a scarab style chassis. The Scarab action is the first gen action and deploys great but the retraction sometimes takes two hands for my old thumbs.

I have both, the 040 exactly as in this video and the 035 in the same colors/blade as the 040. I like the 040 better, its just so powerful and you feel that blade come out. The 035 is really nice and snappy and fast though.

Vero Beach was the golden era of Microtech. They make some great stuff today; but back in the early 2000's Microtech was pretty much the only company making such knives so it was special. I remember getting a Halo III back then and I thought it was the coolest knife ever, and I still do.
