Probably a bit better I think. The average size of Barra were a bit bigger. Cheers

Nice video! What weight of the Rod ? Intermediated fly line?
@AllAboutTheEat11 ай бұрын
Thanks. Using a 7wt mostly with an Intermediate line but the dahlberg was on a fishing line.

This is mind blowing session I saw you fly fish with Will Pritchard, who owns FISHHINTER FNQ in cairns. How is the fishing there compared with weipa? (River, and estuaries)
@rodlawson693 Жыл бұрын
Hi mate. The type of fishing is very similar, casting into mangroves, drains etc however fishing in Weipa is a lot more prolific. As you can tell by the videos, we got onto a bunch of fish in Weipa. Will is great to fish with in and around Cairns and has put me onto fish every trip. Good luck!
@user-kz5tx5ef4h Жыл бұрын
@@rodlawson693 thanks mate, did you fish the Daintree river or just the river around carirns?
@AllAboutTheEat Жыл бұрын
@@user-kz5tx5ef4h I have fished both Trinity Inlet and the Daintree with Will. The Daintree is a spectacular place to fish.

Wow, 7 days fly fishing in weipa! What’s your fly fishing gear for day 7? Where did you stay? Your videos are so exciting. I am looking forward to fly fishing weipa next May.
@rodlawson693 Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. I was using a TFO BVK 7wt with an Int line for most of it. The surface work was a TFO Mangrove 7wt with a floating line. White or chartreuse clousers were the best flies. We stayed at the camp ground in a cabin. You'll have a ball in May

What is the weight of your fly rod? Floating line?or intermediate? The action is insane
@rodlawson6932 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. All the creek action was on a TFO BVK 7wt with an intermediate line. The large queenies at the end were on a G.Loomis 8/9 intermediate line.

Yeah you're right. Can only cast at them where you find them though.

@@rodlawson693 I hear ya . I didn't live in a house till I was 12 my dad was a logger so we lived in the mountains he was a romantic. That being said I had to supply a lot of my own food being young and growing I was always hungry. I learned how to sneak up on fish I would barely crawl up to the hole slowly and usually the first cast I would catch the biggest fish in the hole and then it was spooked LOL. I learned how to live off the land basically foraging and hunting and fishing it was a good time
