Very nice buck, Michigan has some big bucks just have to work harder for them. Northwoods bucks can get huge massive bodies on them and grow huge racks in the right areas on public land just have to put in a ton of scouting time to find them but they're out there.

We use a basic belay device and back it up with a prusic attached to the saddle on the tag end side. Very safe and works well! Ive got a video on my one stick setup if you want to see it up close.

Man I used one of them heated vests and my core was warm but when I stood up my legs wouldn’t work because they were frozen kinda scared me since it was dark and time to leave took a minute for the blood to warm up and my legs to work!

Jacob, that is a true hawg for Michigan!! Congratulations man. I sat on the edge of my seat watching this video and you stalking him. Amazing. Really proud of you. Especially knowing you are 1) just a 'normal' Michigan guy and 2) hunting public land. I enjoy watching real life hunting videos like yours. 9-5 M-F guys that work in hunting around real jobs and real families, not Hollywood style productions. I feel a special connection to your family, your mom, dad, and grandma, and now to you and Johnathan. Keep us posted on how he scores and give us a picture of the mount. Congratulations again. Ken and Cherie Truman

For sure! I did get him taped and he scored 148”. I’ll make sure and show a video once I get him back from the taxidermist. I paid a little extra to get him pedestal mounted!

Being a fellow michigan public land hunter i would appreciate it if your video wasnt so blurry. 😉 Congrats! I knocked down a 140 on public 2 years ago and followed up with a 120+ this year both with my bow. Never posted videos because i was nervous about the attention to my spots. They're out there. Awesome video and good luck this year!

It was blurred out at times to help conceal their location. There may have been recognizable landmarks and it sounds like you don't like to advertise your spots either

Nice buck, i still use my H&R 12ga ultra slug with heavy copper slugs even though we can use straight wall rifle calibers here in mid michigan, even if you are off a bit the hole they leave is quite an advantage to getting a good blood trail . Works for me anyway. November 15 is always special in michigan .👍🤠

Appreciate the video.. I hunt public and private in lower michigan. I'm not a fan of most public in michigan I would like to get down to Hillsdale next year. I bounce around during bow season on public but after that I usually leave it alone.

Hello Jacob and Jonathan. You probably don't remember us, but my wife Cherie and I babysat for you in the early 90's up in Alanson Michigan. Your dad (Tim) your mother Rebekah and your grandma were at our church Liberty Baptist in Alanson. I introduced your dad to big woods public land whitetail gun hunting. He shot a nice 5 pointer the first sit I put him on! I will never forget it. It is great seeing how you guys have picked up the love of the woods, the love of Jesus and the love of hunting. I am older now 66 and don't get around like I did in my 30's. We live in mid Michigan now near Lapeer. Lots of deer here but all private and nobody to hunt with. I strictly hunt gun as I can't climb trees due to lower back surgery. I hunt closer to the road and usually just get a doe. Beautiful buck you guys harvested on this video. The rut is FUN and unpredictable. Tell you mom and dad "hello" and Merry Christmas from Ken and Cherie Truman👍

the sound the Carbon stick makes is much more natural to the woods. the aluminum stick noise in my experience is very manufactured sounding and that will spook the big boy.
