I have been having trouble turning on the device, as in it doesn't always work for me every-time. I'll try to turn the tuner on but all it does is blinks a "10" on the top left and hums an A pitch. It would take a lot of pressing both "tuner" and "met" button afterwards before it could work properly. Have you ever had that problem before?

Unbelievable how hard this information is to find. Actually infuriating, I'm trying to support my son's practice but no one has answered me about this, it doesn't seem to be like other instruments as in put your finger on and off you go so it's hard unless you learn this.

Thank you for this helpful video. But why first position is followed by 2nd position and not first half position?
@MrSutherlin10 ай бұрын
Great question! The simplest answer is to look for efficiency based on level of experience. I didn't cover those positions yet because we haven't learned those yet in the beginner/intermediate level for the grades that I teach.

Thank you for this! Honestly I’m the only bass player in my advanced orchestra and I began as a cellist I’ve only been playing bass for a year and to be honest I sort of taught myself, since I was the only bass player I was just given books and I didn’t really have anyone teach me due to there being more of the other instruments. I’ve done pretty good now but due to being self taught I only remember finger pattern and at times forget note names or how they look like! I also don’t know my positions well due to never really being taught! So I just needed a refresher on it and this video has helped a lot!!

I'm so happy this has been helpful for you! Hope you're enjoying the bass still!

I played cello for 1 year but my fingerings aren’t curved. Even I correct it, it gradually not get curved
@MrSutherlin10 ай бұрын
So a couple things to consider: 1. How much of it is because of hand/finger strength This greatly affects the amount of flexibility you can control in your fingers. 2. Do you have consistently long nails? Those long nails do get in the way of everything on string instruments. 3. Move your thumb! Everyone's hands are built different in some way and so are the instruments depending on the brands and models. Find a place for your thumb, usually somewhere between your index and middle finger behind the neck, where you can still curve your fingers. Also, you can move your thumb horizontally behind the neck depending on what string(s) you're focused on. As you mature, you'll find the sweet spot. I'm sure by now. you figured it out. :)
