Greatest SciFi horror ever made. I've loved A L I E N ever since my late mother let me stay up to watch it on TV in the early 80s when I was just eight. I built the Nostromo out of Lego and devised my own board game based on the film. My passion for art was directly inspired by this masterpiece. The original gets under your skin in ways that the sequels never have.

Good ranking. I definitely have a ranking you won’t agree with 😂 But I guess despite the lower budget and cheaper production, I’ve always felt the first 2 films show the best/most accurate portrayal of Max. Furiosa was a great prequel and I appreciate it just as much as Fury Road. 5. Beyond Thunderdome 4. Furiosa 3. Fury Road 2. Mad Max 1. Road Warrior

The Mad Max Fury Road comic book, written by George Miller, will tell you Immortan Joe's origin story, when his name was Colonel Joe Moore. That comic book, or, graphic novel, fills in some other things, like how did Max get his V8 Interceptor back, when we saw it destroyed in The Road Warrior? And tells you who that little ghost girl is that haunts Max in Fury Road, and why. You should get it!

Thanks for ranking the Mad Max franchise. I grew up watching these movies in the late 70's and early 80's. This is how I would rank them: 5. Furiosa (saw it 2 days ago and my wife and I really enjoyed it, but I missed Mad Max) 8/10 4. Thunderdome (agree with you: good beginning, slow middle, solid ending) 8.5/10 3. Fury Road (Great action from beginning to end and I enjoyed the simple story) 9/10 2. Mad Max (I enjoyed the odd characters and the creativity with the low budget) 9.5/10 1. The Road Warrior (I love Mad Max's quiet confidence and his relationship with the Gyro Captain. Pure Nostalgia!) 10/10

FYI Mad Max (1979) was made on a $350,000-400,000 budget. It was also George Miller’s first full length movie. Not bad for a guy who started his career as a…physician.

Dude you on drugs. Can't comment on latest one but of the 4 before it: 1. Road warrior. 2. Original (could easily switch 1 and 2 around). 3. Thunderdome. 4. Fury road the most overrated film of the modern age since fight club.
@leosnerdtalkАй бұрын
Wow lol i mean i respect your opinion dont think you need to say im on drugs however. And most mad max fans would highly disagree with you. Both fight club and fury road are on rolling stones top 100 movies of all time for a reason and they dont just decide it ….its based on critics and audience surveys. But hey man thats while we are allowed to have different opinions like i said in the movie i dont expect anyone to agree with me and even when i put mad max last i said i know there are people that love it.
@happydude2163Ай бұрын
@@leosnerdtalk Drugs comments a joke - like, "you're tripping" :-) I suspect most so called Mad Max fans didn't even know the franchise existed prior to Fury Road and weren't invested in Mel Gibson. Fury Road has some interesting moments, but then intensity of the action doesn't stack up with Road Warrior and Hardy's max character were a sub-character at best in this version - thus the Furiosa spin off. As Quentin Tarantino rightly said "in a world where Mel Gibson lives, why would you do Mad Max without him" especially given he seems more ornery/grizzly now than ever before! Regarding Thunderdome - it was still a great movie with an interesting concept/story, the previous 2 movies however were so good they were hard to beat.

Speaking as a guy who grew up watching the old Mad Max movies all the time with his dad, Fury Road is still the absolute best of the series. I’m sorry, I could understand you thinking Road Warrior maybe edges it out (it’d be an arguable opinion at least) but the idea that Fury Road is lesser than Mad Max/Beyond Thunderdome? Sorry, that’s absolutely silly. Either it’s blind nostalgia or blind hate because either Mel Gibson wasn’t in it or something else.

The movie in my opinion was not long enough or detailed enough I did appreciate it being politically neutral however they barely show the Florida alliance at all and honestly I thought once the government fell the Florida alliance and the Western Forces were going to clash against each other for power which is very much foreshadowed towards the beginning of the movie when people are talking about once the Federal government is overthrown they don't think that the two militant groups will get along and the only reason they aren't fighting each other yet is because of their common enemy one of my biggest complaints about the movie though is the soundtrack half of the scenes were ruined with shitty hip hop music playing in the background
@leosnerdtalk3 ай бұрын
I do wish it went more into detail about why the civil war happened but i understand the choice to not do so. It never really says who someone is if they are western forces or florida everyone was kinda fighting just cause i think that was the point to show it that way. I actually like the music especially how it would contradict what was happening on screen it worked for me . Most of this movie worked for me the first 30 minutes i wasn’t feeling it but by the end i really enjoyed it.

I thought it was kinda meh tbh. It only focuses on the 2 years which I don’t think was a good choice. I felt like I didn’t learn much about him. What was his inspiration for his music? How did he come up with everything is going to be alright? Why don’t we get more of his upbringing and life leading up to his fame? To many unanswered questions. The music and acting was well done though.
