Diese Weigert-Laute gefällt mir noch besser als ein Widhalm-Modell. Schön ausgeglichene Frequenzen, aber knackig-brilliante Höhen. Die Rolex unter den Barocklauten😊

Ja, Weigert ist wirklich top und klingt sehr gut! Diese Laute lässt sich auch sehr gut halten. Aber Edlinger ist auch ausgezeichnet :)

The lute was made by Hendrik Hasenfuss and the stringlength is 69 cm.

It was Bream who introduced me to lute music, when I was in my teens and a guitar player. Years later, when the 'early music' scene became more pedantic, and I myself was studying/playing lute, it became fashionable to write Bream off - his 'lute' wasn't a real lute, his technique was all wrong etc. But I still loved his playing. So nice to hear him memorialised appropriately.

Thank you very much! Bream was a genius performer on guitar and lute and he did so much to introduce a wider audience to the beautiful music written for those instruments. Little does it matter that his lutes were quite different from historic instruments, in my view.

First of all congratulations for this beautiful arrangement of one of the most beautiful pieces in the history of music, by Christoph Willibald Gluck, from the opera Orfeu e Eurídice. This sounding very good on the baroque lute instrument still used at the time of Gluck, who was an important composer of the transition period between the late baroque and the classical period, second half of the 18th century, in the baroque lute it was a period called “Galante”. I study baroque lute (I am a Brazilian, amateur musician), I would like to know how I could get the tablature for this arrangement. Thank you very much in advance.

Thank you very much! In fact this is rather my own improvisation on the basis of the original score of the opera. I never wrote it down and therefore I have no tablature to offer, unfortunately.

@@bernhardhofstotter5547 Indeed there is - I got a microfilm and got that whole thing printed up and bound into a book back in the 60s when I was at Columbia U. when I was doing research on Weiss - got most of the other known MSs also at that time. But the BM is the best, and more readable than Vienna - at least in my copy.

Today a lot of luthenists play the music of Weiss in a church, this music however never ment to be played in a church but in a Palace or Castle. So bernhard is 100% correct in playing this music in the right place and his playing is beautifull!
