How can ''you'' have the feeling of non existing? Only shows that the memory still captured that moment.

I think that after watching Persona I got a feeling that I'm contemplating myself from the outside. As if my soul had separated from my body and was noticing all my slightest actions and thoughts. That was my second initiation into the world of cinema, the distance between these two initiations is around 26 years. I watched many movies all these years - good, bad, excellent...But this was a mind blowing experience when the doors of perception opened once more. My first initiation was achieved after smoking pot. The second time I was completely sober, so after all these years I got a fresh feeling of magic made by dancing shadows on the wall. Bergman was a medium, I suppose, though on the surface it may seem like he is very verbal. But there's something between the lines... My acquaintance with him started also around 26 years ago, I watched Sawdust and Tinsel and Seventh Seal, and then up to recent moment he was on my "movies to watch before death" list. Bergman and Death, ha-ha! Then I came across him in Tarkovsky's lectures on cinematography, and because I was very interested in Tarkovsky's choice of movie directors and I remembered from my first encounter with Bergman that his films are worth watching, and because I've got some spare time and realized that I'm totally psychically tired and unable to do anything, I opened my list of films and after watching a few Bergman's time came. Well, his films fixed my broken rhythm of life and long awaited inspiration returned. To day, I've watched many of his films and I regret that not much left...Sorry, I may sound as a young girl first time in love but that;s what Bergman have done with me.

WHAT A STUPID AND DISTURBING FILM. READ THE FILM SUMMARY. SEE THE TRAILER. SEE SNIPPETS OF THE SCENES OF THE FILM. AND YOU SIMPLY ARE FORCED TO CONCLUDE THAT THIS IS A STU PID AND DISTURBING MOVIE. IT SHOULD HAVE JUST REMAINED A NOVEL. A LONG BORING PLOT, UNTIL THE FINAL SCENES OF UTTER MAYHEM. LOL. WHAT A GENIUS PLOT. LOOKING AT THE AUTHOR. YOU CAN TELL, THAT THIS IS A HIGHLY DISTURBED INDIVIDUAL. YES, HE MAY HAVE THE PATIENCE TO WRITE A NOVEL. BUT COME ON. THIS IS CLEARLY A SICK AND A STUU PID MOVIE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SUPER SMART TO COME TO THAT ANSWER. I WOULDN'T WASTE MY TIME TO WATCH THIS.

both of the young leads, I believe, met unfortunate, early demises. they were the result of an intensive nationwide search, if memory serves me. the male in particular, died in prison, in a weight room under mysterious circumstances.

Wonderful film! The shallow script was fully eclipsed by the cinematography and the atmosphere. The interaction of Mark and Daria within the desert landscapes was, by itself, worth the price of admission! Being alive during those days gives one the added benefit of both insight and also hindsight. One thing for sure, they'll never come again!

IMHO, the MARK character is actually a covert intel mole infiltrating the student movement (dude eventually goes rogue and dies). The entire opening credits scene is shot from the POV of a surveillance team spying on a Student Action Committee meeting.

@@rafe7678 IMHO, the underlying theme of Zabriski Point seems so be an encroaching electronic surveillance State (establishment) vis a vis the US counter culture movement (forces of change)...Like Daria says when reading the monument at Zabriski Point "ancient lake beds pushed up by Earth forces". Its an ancient societal struggle that has no real resolution. But I believe the Daria character points the way on how to begin untying this societal Gordian Knot... The ending is fkn' SPECTACULAR! min 11:25 Literally the END of traditional knowledge.
