To anyone having issues getting the bulbs to go back in, (kinda) solution and explanation below. Just got through the same issue. I bought 2 halogen bulbs. Both broke trying to install. Today, I bought two LED versions from Home Depot (FEIT Electric G8 20watt). I realized that they didn't have the skinny part connected to the prongs, but instead had a thicker rubber body all the way down. Unlikely to fit. But, I still couldn't get the prongs in, so out of frustration, I tried pulling the white fixtures out with pliers. Bad move, because it shattered. But the good news was that I was fully able to see inside. The prongs get inserted between two metal tabs. The bottom half is fixed, and the top half is spring loaded pushing downwards. I suspect that the bulbs wouldn't go in because of excessive friction between the two pieces of metal, and/or because the upper springs were stuck. I took a small screwdriver (may have actually been an awl) and forced the tabs to separate. Then, basically, the freaking bulb went in. Remember when I said I screwed up and broke the white housing? Well, happy accident, because now the thicker LED bulb fits perfectly. Powered it on and everything works. Also, the rubbery LED bulb was a lot more durable, allowing me to shove it in without it breaking. Note: I highly recommend unplugging the microwave. Maybe waiting 10-30 mins for things to discharge. Before, when I broke the halogen bulb, I got a nice scary spark. I'll take anything apart, but I don't F with electricity. Also, be careful with the white housing. I thought it was plastic, but it seems it was some kind of porcelain or something. It will shatter, and it will be sharp. Idk if I want to necessarily recommend breaking the housing like I did, but if it's the only way, it's the only way.

So, if i replace resistor and plug, is the problem fixed? Because someone told me that, is the fan the one responsible for the melting of the plug, because is demanding more energy. Is it true?
@becausestuffbreaks13 күн бұрын
I guess that might explain why it melted on me a 2nd time. The 2nd time it happened I cleaned the contact surfaces and pinched the female contacts together more so they would make a better connection, and that fixed it for me the 2nd time. It's possible the fan was drawing too much current at high speed.
@R0dn3y0213 күн бұрын
@@becausestuffbreaks yes, or is the internal parts of the fan that are already dying, and the fan is forcing himself to work, and because of that is demanding more energy, and thats why plugs are melting and resistor are getting hot and failing because of a forced fan.

@becausestuffbreaks15 күн бұрын
It should have some resistance when turning. If it is shutting off before clothes are dry, your moisture sensor may be dirty or covered by something like a dryer sheet. You can use rubbing alcohol on a rag to clean the moisture sensor.

I’m a couple months late but it appears your condenser coil needs to be cleaned. If the exhaust fan has trouble freely bringing the air in through the coils it can’t cool properly. Measuring the cooling temperature of the refrigerant exiting the condenser coils is calling subcooling. Long story short, the refrigerant leaves the compressor at high temp (in vapor state) and should drop in temperature by the time it exits the coils (in liquid state). If the coils aren’t clean air can’t move through the coils via the condenser fan.

@@guyonyoutube6565 I did a little Google research. Lithium grease is not advised for plastic but good for metal. I tried to use silicone grease but it gummed up the bar that the assembly rides on.
