It is all related to the Crack down on sex tourism. A friend of mine was harrased for several hours luckily his fiance is a Colombian Attorney and he was allowed to call her and she started calling people. As a single male get ready if you are going to Medellin!!!

Yet according to the State Dept. They scaled back their agency that oversees the prevention of exploitation of their own “little ones”? We know who is most likely the type that revels there for that and it isn’t “Tyrone” so……

One thing I wished I had heard discussed is the constant talk surrounding the accusation that Americans are coming to Medellin to have sex with minors. I felt gaslighted my entire time there. I was planning to party with the locals. But minors, hell no. But the gaslighting and the incorrect conclusion that coming to MDE to party is the same as coming to abuse minors would absolutely make me feel nervous in an immigration line especially if I was pulled for questioning. Leaving out this detail misses the entire dilemma of travel to Medellin.

I just spent 3 months in Medellin. I flew into Bogota and flew out from MDE. I read the headline and got mad and nervous because I initially felt that this easily could have been me. My reaction would have been panic, and pretty intense betrayal. To be completely honest I kinda feel duped by this video. I think he gave horrible answers to the immigration officer and his answers made me question who he really is and what his real intentions are. I hate to judge from afar but at the same time, this is an issue that affects all of us who travel and how else are we going to take away lessons if we don't think about what we are watching. According to me, Medellin is sketch city, but that being said, I think the stories that are being reported are sensational and dramatically overstate the risks involved in traveling there. It is a crazy fascinating place. I love it. I miss it. When I write about Medellin I try to focus more on the questions it brings up than to provide quick answers. Medellin is not a place to go to if you want easy answers. If you are not asking yourself; "WTF just happened??" then you're not doing it right.

Weird..I've been to Colombia many times. Never a single problem. I'm Caucasian if that matters. I think she was just in a bad mood and probably had some gringo fatigue. There is a small chance you may have been flagged for some behavior on your last trip. It could be just being see near the wrong people.

I’m sorry you had to go through that. Ironically, the KZfaqrs that make content in certain areas in Medellin - where foreigners can find drugs and prostitutes - are making the immigration process harder for others. Saying that you’re a KZfaqr, and the contents of your suitcase, can be a red flag. There’s a couple of Americans and a Venezuelan that are on the run right now after being caught having sex with minors. Since the case of the Gotham hotel this year, there’s been many that were caught and deported or escaped. As soon as you land, connect to the free wifi network at the airport, but also bring screenshots of your bookings. If you’re staying with Colombian friends, have their address and phone number handy. Immigration everywhere can be stressful, but try to keep your cool if you’ve got nothing to hide.

Wow. I sure am glad that nobody ended up dead. But if the Canadian would’ve been a drug smuggler and then got caught with cocaine, I doubt that he would’ve gotten a prison sentence, of up to 10 to 15 years in prison, as that is crazy on how, cocaine drug smugglers are always caught and then thrown in prison, at a prison down in South America, especially with cocaine drug smugglers. And it’s crazy, on how they all do it.

Of course AA is going to use his return ticket, why would they give him a free ticket? It's not the airline' fault he wasn't admitted to the country. That's standard airline procedure.

Even I got red flags when he's describing the situation. Not having the information of where he's staying, 3 bags for "charity" is ok but perfumes for charities? 🤔, not being able to easily pull up your own youtube channel? I would've denied entry also. Sounds too much like a passport bro to me.

That DC Rob rap song rules! But I feel like you have dropped the ball on some of the past stories. Like what happened to the case of the American dude who was setting up a "soul food" restaurant in Colombia and was shot to death? Did they ever catch the killers? It seems like all these cases just appear, and after some time everyone forgets about them and the killers are never caught.

Yiipp Almost happened to me also but in Bogota like 2-3 days ago. Because of the condition of my passport. The same passport that i've used the past 4-5 years coming multiple times into Colombia and all over the world. So this lady went so far as to stamping it and saying something like cannot enter after anyone in the actual passport.....

What is going on with the morality in this world? Why would the judge set them free? Is it the same as the judges in NY letting migraines go free after they've been arrested for looting, SAing, and assault (on police even).
