Honestly I don't need to read the books in their season but I do have 2 summer books I want to read during the summer time

Last year I read 2 entire series from the library ahhh just amazing, i also am kind of buddies with my local librarian, he knows me by NAME, such a flex I know haha

My library don't have alot of new popular books unless they are older ones that resurfaced, but I still love the library even to discover other books. I would live there if it wasn't for my anxiety

I buy thrifted books alot, if I can find it second hand I try to do that, also last year I borrowed like 20 something books from the library. And alot of the books I bought were with giftcards. This year I also started it off with reading lost of the books I had on my tbr and donating like 18 books. I try to keep a balance but I do buy alot of books regardless, I also sample alot of them online before purchasing to not waste money if I don't love it. Last year is when I discovered booktube and all that and that's when fomo was hitting me hard, but I feel like I got a good idea of my book taste now, although I love to try new books, but you can find so many popular books second for fairly cheap, it's almost like a game haha. If I knew people who read lots of books then I would definitely borrow more from them but I don't

I totally agree with trying to match reading books with seasons. Nothing like reading a book in the summer and it’s all about Christmas, snow, and hot chocolate…nope! Just can’t get into it and visualize it as much! Love the recommendations!❤

I don’t personally understand the whole “buy it after you read it” thing. Maybe it’s just because I rarely reread things.

I have a friend who also likes reading and whenever we finish a book we think the other might like we write a note into the book, describing why we liked it and then give it to each other. I think this is so wholesome. We also do the same thing with books we really hated. I will definitely try some of your tips, thank you so much :)

Ooh I am so happy that you are talking about this! Sustainability is something I try hard at in most other fields of life but I love buying books as well - once I’ve my physical TBR whittled down a bit maybe I will try and change this. I do buy a lot secondhand though, and secondhand books are the best!

I’ve always been a huge reader but I have very few physical books. The library and the Libby App are my best friends. I haven’t bought more than a handful of physical books in years. I love the kindle and Libby apps because I can read on my phone or my kindle or iPad and it all syncs together. The overconsumption on booktube/tok/gram is crazy. Great tips, I fell victim to overconsumption of books, only buying my own physical copies to put as a trophy on my shelf after even when I didn’t love the book. Recently while preparing for a move I was forced to do a massive declutter of my books and I realized I was hanging onto dozens of books for no reason. Now, seeing how much money was sitting there on my shelf, I’m utilizing my kindle properly and have purchased a few books second hand on marketplace instead of buying them new.

I feel insecure sometimes when I see other Booktuber’s ginormous shelves and I look at mine that probably has like 100-150 books (which is still a ton) 😆 I primarily use the library/Libby app, Scribd for audiobooks, used bookstores and little free libraries and rarely buy new books unless they’re on sale or I have a gift card! I love the kindle deals, that's how i normally buy my kindle books as well! I've been wanting to read The Witch's Heart and I physically own How To Stop Time! The Prison Healer is one of my favorite books, still need to continue with the trilogy though 😅
