Elle TENS - Painfree labour made possible!
@Mepjc6 ай бұрын
I wish someone would actually explain the differences between the modes and the optimax. The only 'description' of the modes I can find is that mode 2 is normally used in latter stages of labour - fine, but at least explain what the differences between them are?! Similar with the optimax setting - it's not well explained (or explained at all here) and seems to be just a 2nd way of changing the output. Whats the difference between doing it with the ± keys and the optimax key?!

Can I try it if I’m 26 weeks? I have the machine but haven’t tried it yet cuz I don’t know where to start 😢 my midwife told me they don’t give training or info about it.

The instructions on mine say not to try it until 37 weeks. There were instructions on KZfaq too. I have the Elles TENS.

Thanks for the elaborate instruction, I can imagine it's more easy to understand than reading a manual while in labour. However the placement of the electrodes is wrong, they are way too close together. The lower ones should be close to the dimples above your buttocks and the higher ones should be under your bra band.

How many hours you use tense unit? Is it safe to use tense unit in labor, If I'm connected to baby heart monitor in a hospital?
@BabycareTENSUK Жыл бұрын
Elle TENS is designed to be used for the duration of our labour. Your midwife may ask you to remove your Elle TENS machine when connected to the monitor. This is something you would need to discuss with your midwife :)

Will these interfere with body signals if I'm trying to listen to my body in a natural birth?
@paleclown80172 жыл бұрын
No, it won't interfere with the bodies signals. Obstetric TENS use is very safe. Its one of the uniqie features that set it apart from other pain relief interventions. Sometimes when taking an ultra sound reading a doctor may wish to turn off the unit temporarily to check the accuracy of their readings. This is fine to do as well. Also, we can rephrase answer your question, by stating that the patient will NOT be able to listen to their bodies signals during childbirth if the pain is at an unmanageable level (eg. They are not using TENS) and equally they will NOT be able to listen to their bodies signals if they have been over medicated with drugged pain killers. This tends to prolong the labour and nessitate the use of intrumental assistance for the delivery. This takes away from the patients active participation in their own labour-achievable through obstetric tens use. I hope this helps.

I have one that was given to me by the VA. I plan on going natural without medication. I did not know that the unit can be used in this case. Thank you!!

I'm in labor now and trying the BabyCare TENS (Obi Tens+) for the first time. At first it's getting used to the tingling feeling. After 20min or so I got used to it and now it releaves pain! My health insurance paid for it so that's a big plus for me.

This is very helpful, thank you. I'm a first time mum and pretty scared about the labour experience! I'm definitely going to be buying an Elle tens machine🤗
