Easily the greatest content on You Tube. I absolutely love watching you work, you’re an artist, an engineer, and a master jeweler all combined into an amazing craftsman. Thank you for sharing your efforts with us!
Would ever consider to make a full scale project someday?

I would like to know the exact name of the tool you used to engrave '滅' on the blade.
@Tetrahymenajp12 күн бұрын
For engraving on the blade, I use carbide chisels used for silversmithing and engraving. You can find this on Google by searching for "Cemented Carbide Engraver" or "tungsten carbide chisel".

I'm quite curious, how you determined that the steel have enough carbon content from carburization? Cause as far as I know if steel contain too much carbon it can turn into cast iron wich is super brittle, is it depends on time, heat or the amount of carbon you use? If you kindly enough to answer this I would really tank you

The patience needed to hand plane the handles when you have a belt grinder, is impressive. Shows quality is the primary consideration. Which is why your work is so fascinating.

I've made basically the exact same knife in the past, except with a newly forged blade of non-laminated steel, a lot less fancy than this marvel here. For some reason, the Finnish and Japanese aesthetics seem to go together really well.

Exquisitely beautiful. And I thought those decorative gouges were simply made by running a big, coarse, clogged-up file over the thing 😆well, now I know.
