Really didn't enjoy this one a huge amount, which really hurts me to say. I did enjoy the title track ENOUGH to throw it on some playlists though.

Like I've listened through this EP a couple of times now and imma be brutally honest, I don't understand it. Like there's no EP value here, it feels like he just hand picked 3 random tracks from his ID list and just said yeah fuck it this is an EP. There's NOTHING special about any of these 3 tunes like, at all. Really disappointed ngl.

I've been dissapointed with the songs he's been releasing lately, I think the last one I really enjoyed was sinews and then he went overboard with the recycled ideas, repetition of the same structure/sounds and bad mixing, he took a path of quantity before quality that I don't like :(

I can't help but think about all his unreleased stuff. It's honestly underwhelming to know he could do way better but instead sticks to his usual sound and doesn't branch out with something new or at least a little different. Then again he has stated before he is scared to release stuff like that cause he doesn't know if it's good for him and if people will like them. Which is crazy cause everyone is literally wanting that rn

Short tracks, god awful mixing, garbage build ups and sounds just take 30 seconds to make....its just lazy producing as is most of this Riddim genre. All these songs sound exactly the same as 1000 other songs that are out right now. Same pattern, same rhythm, same sounds. This genre needs to reinvent istself. Not trying to hate, but its time to switch it up

he cuts off the drop in primal phantom & that marauda song vip with the exact same drum fill in both songs, i feel like his drops are great but im getting tired of every song of his being roughly 2 mins long, with the same intro and buildup, a short but great drop, another buildup copy & pasted and then another drop that maybe has a few variations and its over...and not to mention galumph being in mono for some of it and stereo for others, its happened before with nefarious if i remember correctly? its a shame, i feel like they always have the potential to be so good but not there

I mean it’s not toooooo bad. I like some of the ideas for the drops, but I’ve definitely heard better from him. Not bad, but not necessarily amazing either

My friend and I couldn't really take this one very seriously 😂 The production is definitely a little bit better than what I remember of most of Marauda's stuff, but conceptually it's just the same old. Something I particularly found funny about "Galumph" is that it felt like he had no idea what he wanted to do in the first half, but then suddenly had a pretty cool idea for the second half..? Man how much I love inconsistent tunes like that.

Fairly disappointed with this EP to be honest, the mixing is all over the place and the ideas are stuff we've heard before.

So grateful you reviewed this man! Nice to see that you appear moved in too. You certainly said a lot of similar things that I thought. I do also think it is compilation like, but the way he arranged the songs feels pretty intentional and I’m not surprised he finished with dnb as he and Dom Dolla have ended their sets with dnb during their recent festival rounds. I definitely see the Deadmau5 and Kaskade inspiration with how he recruited Hayla to become a key collaborator with his biggest songs. What sets John Summit apart from some of the others that have collaborated with her is that he maximizes her vocals with the relationship to the synths as well as her vocal range such as with her humming. The thing I admire most about the album is how much John Summit showcases his love for different forms of dance music. The Of The Trees collab is my favorite of the new ones for now because of the venture in the new style and its execution. Your perspective on the Elderbrook collab regarding how it melds his two styles is something that I will be thinking about the more I listen to the album. I look forward to seeing more of your videos again!
