@@disciple012 I took went back and forth on this one for a long time. In the end, I confess, it was totally the GM-Less D&D system that hooked me - after that, adding everything else followed suit. Glad to have it all, for sure - just need to get it to the table now! 🤣 (Plan is to play through some (at least) of the adventures before taking a proper look at the d&d aspect. I understand Many of the characters will be the same - do wonder if the story itself is the same too 🤔

@familymeeple I was back and forth on this because I think League Of Dungeoneers was happening around the same time and I couldn't afford both. I saw that some of this is coming to retail, but I'm not sure if everything is....

@@disciple012 The struggle is real, when multiple big crowdfunding projects hit at the same time - is never to decide which to back or not. Knowing what's going to be available at retail at a later can certainly help for sure 🤔👍

i love the epic music in the background! its the perfect amount of noise, not too loud not too quiet! Enjoed thje playthrough and subbed for more :D One feedback: the glare makes it hard to see stuff sometimes, maybe you can tweak the lighting situation a bit! One day I also wanna own such a cool gaming Corner/ Gaming Room! Cheers!

9:00 😂 Try punching out the circles. I had 2 of my punch boards that i had to cut the colored paper layer on top/bottom because they werent cut all the way through in the factory. So, yes the bigger tiles punch out easily. The small 25-ish mm circle tokens and the even smaller status effect tokens were horrible and ripped the top layer when punching without first cutting. I was not impressed by their punch boards. And the smaller cards are also curved on the edges because the factory cutter blade mustve gotten dulled. Glad I got the sleeves. But I dont like how thin the sleeves are. Its all more on the cheaper side when compared to other games that are near same price. Its not the worst. But none of the paper/cardboard items impressed me when paying over $700. So far thats my only complaint though.

I'll be diving in shortly to finish punching tokens and unpacking cards. (I did raise a query if sleeves were still available as I hadn't realised these had not been included in my pledge 😞 - I'm awaiting a response)

@@familymeeple I'm working on sleeving all of the cards now. Been going strong for 4 hours over 2 days. I started with the smallest cards first, finished them yesterday. Today, I'm working on the poker sized cards and there are a lot of them. Also, I have no idea which cards go behind which divider. I mean, I can guess on some where the cards have names that are the same as the divider. But, I will need to look up what goes behind the dividers named NPC, PVP, Flask, Fate, and Other 1 to 5... UGH. They should've included a picture if what the cards look like for each card-divider. All we have is page 5 of the rulebook, and that doesn't match the names on the card-dividers. Also, all of the smaller cards don't fit in the box organizer. I wish they moved the dragon out of this box and gave us room for all of the cards to be placed standing up. I did watch Phlanx06's video where he shoved some small cards in with the dragon. That's just dumb.

@@timf7354 I found I had a similar experience with Chronicles of Drunagor... Lots of cards with dividers and very little to no information and how to store them (in fact, I've still got the list of those cards to finish sorting!!!). Looks like will be much the same again! 🙄😞 Truly baffles me the expectation of knowledge (or else sheer lack of preparation) in some of these areas.

@@familymeeple Also, I didn't order the same things that you ordered. I got the Super Box Pledge (Storage Box 1 and 2 already stocked like your video) and the Pledge Manager New Items Combo for $99 which included the Sleeves, Elder Dragon, Plastic Tokens, and Boards and Dice. I didn't see your video unboxing those. I mean, it did unbox the plastic tokens, but the boards I got didn't have paper boards, they were thick, and they came with a black Arena the contest bag with 2 bags of 20 sided dice, 8 dice in each bag. So, I bet this is the discrepancy.

The squares on the maps are 25x25mm. The bases on normal sized miniatures are 25mm circles.

Hey! Thanks for the comment 🙂 To be honest, I'd say that's a difficult one - each pack bringing it's own unique set of challenges and gameplay nuance. I think, if I was going to choose just one expansion (beyond the Core Box & Barricades), it would be Enemies Among Us, but that's because I appreciate the theme of seeing heroes previously loved and lost now being pit against, as they're controlled by their new evil overlord! 😜

For me, that was the massive seeming point of the MDS - minimal setup time: gets to the table in around 5 mins ❤️

First and foremost, understand just how much work, time and effort goes into it and be prepared for a lot of push back on your pricing. I would also suggest it's likely a high burn out occupation. For me, I enjoy the process, get to listen to awesome audio books whilst painting and get paid to do so. In terms of getting started, I'd recommend hunting for a bargain boardgame that has lots of minis (of at least fair quality; if suggest CMON's tend to be good) , and, this probably being the most important thing, other than doing a good job that is, choose a game that is in the top 100-200 on boardgamegeek - that ensures you have maximum audience to sell to! Once painted, take lots of photos, then sell it on - turn a profit and reinvest into the next to paint up. That'll set you going whilst you use your pics taken to publicise your work and availability. Best of luck!

I just got done consolidating my master all in into ONLY 4 boxes. the 3 big ones (Core, Awakenings, Apoc) and spoils of war. the only thing obviously I could not fit is the 4 horseman minis (biggies) and the undead dragon (but did fit its minis on the bottom!) obviously. I was able to fit the heroes tray, furniture tray, monster pack, both adventure packs, and the 5 player trays in the main boxes. required a little trial and error (some 12x12 trays do not sit flat completely) but I have no box lift and only very slight box lift on the awakenings box due to the manuals, but very happy with my outcome.

I'm currently working on a custom system for the miniatures - the notion is to get everything into 2 Kallax slots - using 2 big boxes (original Core Box for all gameplay content like maps, darkness, cards, etc. and Apocalypse box for all mini's [bar the Big 4 Horsemen]) and then use the "Dragon box" as a "campaign box" for currently used character contents, cubes, items, skills, etc. So far, I'm on-course! (but still a WIP!).

I confess, I'm still in the throes of organising everything. I'm happy I've managed to get 95% of everything I need in it's entirety into just one box, bar mini's! Now creating something of a storage solution to crunch down the mini's space - hoping to get everything (bar the big humungous min's) into 2 Kallax slots ;-)

Yes, it absolutely is indeed: without a funny! Ha ha! 2 hours to effectively open and check contents (not to mention spending an hour plus online just double checking all boxes had been received!). Spent a few hours watching Christmas TV with the family whilst sleeving the 1100 cards. Now to work out how their wonderful organisation system works ❤️🎁🎄🔥

Hey! thanks for the feedback. Yes, I think I received a similar comment in another video and I clarified that this was very much a house rule I applied when I first introduced this with my kids as co-op play (making things a little easier for their introductory games 😏). I believe I "tighten up" on myself in future videos as the campaign progresses 🙂

I am not as familiar with DC characters, but as this would blend perfectly with Marvel, add new tiles, add new missions, I absolutely will be interested in this. My big concern is that I think I spent around $800 on the Marvel one, they really need a payment plan option to split that cost up.

Agree on the payment plan option - believe the likes of Gamefound offer this as standard now but not seen any changes/updates on the KS front, relying on those creating projects to provide suitable options. I too sunk lots into Marvel (not that I'm regretting it) and am very interested to see what level of compatibility it brings

Looks great, but I quickly realized that's very difficult to play this game with 3D buildings. Too many models always moving around in very tight areas.

Super excited for DCeased. Outside of the movies, I'm more of a DC fan. And it's compatible with Marvel Zombies which is even better. I'm curious how they're going to do the living vs "zombie" aspect, since DCeased focused more on what the living heroes were doing and less about the Anti-living in the way Marvel Zombies focused on the zombied heroes.

Indeed. Whilst "cross-compatible" from a "character card" perspective, I note we've not yet seen a Zombie card... Will these be playable? Will they have a similar mechanic to the "Hunger"? what might this look like to distinguish it from "Anti-Life"? All valid questions at this stage - interested to know more about DC's direct involvement too 🤔

Ha ha - indeed, it's a great name 😊 I've not researched fully yet but believe DC followed Marvel in producing their zombie storyline, and it is quite different than that of Marvel's, which is a much more traditional zombie notion. Very interested to see if/how this plays out in the game and if CMON are working as closely with DC as they did with Marvel?

@@familymeeple Marvel Zombies debuted in 2005. DCeased started its run in 2019. DC also had iZombie in 2015 and Blackest Night (undead via Black Lanterns) in 2009. The was a Vampires run not so long ago (haven't read, Vampires infiltrate the League and try to take over). Marvel definitely did the zombie apocalypse comics first but DC may have done more zombie/undead-centered comics, I'm not sure.

I'm "listening" to the DCeased content at the moment via the links I shared. Personally, I actually prefer the Marvel take in the basis it's a distressed that came about and spread over the anti life equation, purely on the basis the former didn't require a motive as where the latter seems to have derived from an individual but there doesn't feel, to be at least, a course motive... Other than simply kill everything, to which Bobo (detective chimp) declares the simplest method of spread would have been using mosquitos... So yeah, felt a little..."odd".

Interesting. I struggled with the DC movies but absolutely loved the Marvel movies. I did enjoy the DC TV shows however (albeit rather cheesy). Interestingly, for me, it would definitely have been the other way round - I'm more likely to purchase DC on the basis I can play it with Marvel; don't think I'd have been as invested the other way around.

Thank you. I find using contrast paints over a zenithal undercoat a really didn't way to lay down an effective base coat when you have highly detailed minis - not so effective when they have lots of big smooth areas however! 😉

Indeed. 🤗 The first five years of boardgaming, I adamantly refused to buy any game with minis as new I would have to paint them (20+ years since being into GW and picking up a paint brush!). 😱 Then Cthulhu Death May a Die landed on Kickstarter and I was completely bowled over with it. ❤️🔥🦑 Thankfully, at the same time, GW released their first Citadel Contrast paint range which has been a total game changer for painting highly detailed minis. 🎨 Been back into the painting hobby since!

I came across someone selling their all in S1 + wooden Kallax Storage for €550 including shipping. I then found someone selling all the minis for S2 for £100 and another person seeking 80% S2 game content. On the back of buying a cold of boxes retail, along with the cardboard locations & villains + plastic Tokens, I've probably got about 98% since Feb - lol
