They must have geared the Fury lower because my 1300 VTX will go 80 mph all day without "screaming" at me. Maybe it's because the Fury is only 53 HP now and my VTX 1300 is 74 HP. They don't handle as well either so that's another negative reason not to get one.

yeah, the negative side can be a hassle to get the screw block to stay in place while installing the battery. I used a small tab of e-tape on the downward side (while installing) to keep it from falling out. Then it was still a hassle to line up the screw with the cable and the screw block. But patience will help. I was also thinking MAYBE just a touch of grease on the block might hold it place long enough to keep the block in place until you get the battery in place.

Although a 5 speed is "fine" you can see the benefit of a 6th gear if you go ride a Harley. Any big V Twin should have a 6th gear "overdrive" in America, some of us cruise 90mph over here so... Anyway my 05 VTX 1300 sits on 80-85 no prob. I love it. But it would be absolutely amazing with that 6th gear "overdrive" lol.

I like this bike alot and what the young man didn't tell you about it is all the pretty girls he's had on the back. Chick magnet for sure I have a VTX and I've had a few nice ones on mine and I'm 71 I'd love to be his age again omg. Sweet machine buddy take it easy do a lot of cruising in a small town before getting on the big road. Liked your review.

The bike is factory governed as follows: 1st gear 5250 rpm = approximately 40 mph 2nd gear 5250 rpm = approximately 60 mph 3rd gear 5250 rpm = approximately 80 mph 4th gear 5000 rpm = 100 mph 5th gear 4800 rpm = 100mph Factory limited to 100. That is not screaming

I feel the same way with my chain drive 07 Honda shadow spirit 750. Nice bike but any ride over an hour and I’m just annoyed at the high rpm at 75+ mph

I live in the wrong state I see snow in the background and he still on the freeway I am from Wisconsin so I know it’s cold but here you can’t even ride unless you get like some ice racing gear and it’s best to ride a supermoto,enduro,Dirtbike and in case tires don’t count as gear 2 you

I hv a 2022 750 shadow just came back from a 3000 mile camp trip loaded to the hilt cruised 70 all the way no problem ,don't need any more 😀 👍 😄 I'm 81 been riding since 11 yrs old 😀 😄 😉 👍 😎 😊 😀 😄

It makes no diff it is in 5th or 6th. Its top speed. Its the spread of the power over 5 or 6. Unless it is a specific over drive like some cars of old
