I was rewatching the Texas a&m game against Alabama with Johnny Manziel and one of the comments said Mike Evans (his teammate) made him. Watching this makes me the of that comment because who’s the receiver catch most of these passes? Also on thing I hate about the NFL is the reliance on how QB is the most important position rather than just a position Jameis isn’t the worst neither is Eli manning, Josh Daniels, etc you just need to build the offense to where he isn’t passing multiple times a game. It’s even worse now a days. I’m 23 and I remember when stopping the run and forcing the quarterback to throw more was a viable and effective strategy that a lot of defenses couldve and did use. But now EVERY OFFENSE IS PASS FIRT AND run maybe…… maybe…..or MAYBE PASS MORE. Serious look at the playoffs this year Baltimore vs KC or Detroit vs San Fran or the Super Bowl like WHY ARE YOU PAYING THE RUNNING BACK MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IF HES JUST GOING TO STAND THERE ALL GAME.

Ok like I get it he died in the field and it is a miracle and amazing he was in the roster this year and not at home or in ir. For the love of the football gods he didn't even play a whole quarter this year. When Alex Smith almost died he came back and played in multiple games to earn that. If Hamlin even plays in 3 whole games next season, yes give it to him 100% but don't to turn this to a participation award flacco was at home no one wanted him them he CAME BACK and worked his way on the field. HE EARNED IT!!!!

One thing I love to do every year is count how many teams fail to start their QB for a full season, and yes I do include teams who sit starters in the final weekend to rest them for the playoffs, if you don't start your QB for a full year for any reason, it counts. The record for years was 1992 when 20/28 teams failed to start their QB for a full season, of the 8 who could, 1 missed the playoffs, that was Jim Everett and the Rams. Then 2017 happened, 21/32 teams failed to start their QB for a full season. Then the 2020's happened. 2023 really was the year of the Backup QB, because a new record of 23/32 teams did not start their QB for a full season, btw Derek Carr started all of 2023, famous Jameis started in 2022 for a couple games. The teams who did start their QB's for a full year? Buffalo, GB, Washington, Dallas, TB, Philly, Saints, Miami, and Detroit Of those teams that didn't make the playoffs? Washington (they were gonna start Brissett but he got hurt in practice! So Howell finished the year anyway!), and the Saints Which means just like 1992, only 7 teams started a full season with their QB and made the playoffs, tied for the fewest! Tom Brady wasn't kidding that the quality of QB play has dropped off since he retired, granted he played against the easiest division ever, he's not necessarily wrong either. Aside from Mahomes, who else can you say is a guaranteed future hall of famer right now of the active QB's in their prime or rising? I ask this cuz A-Rod is guaranteed and he's close to retirement so guys like him don't count. Considering the SLEW of Good/Great/Hall of Fame QB's in the past 20 years since Brady was active, this is why he's not necessarily wrong. There was Favre and Rodgers on the Packers, Stafford on the Lions/Rams, Rivers, Ryan, the Manning Bros., Big Ben, Flacco in his prime, Brees, Cam, and many more that I'm missing. Rodgers is basically the only one left, and the replacements are leaving a lot to be desired. There are rising stars like Love, but that's just it, they're rising, hopefully. Fun fact, Tyson Bageant as you mentioned was a D2 QB from Shepard College, beat the #1 overall pick from Alabama in Bryce Young and the Panthers. lmao, NFL is weird.
