Just to get a draw on the battle. Not on whos actually stronger. All the dialogue points to radahn being the strongest of the demigods. Thats not an opinion. Not to mention, theres lore stating she had to be carried away in a coma after the nuke, while radahn whos gone mad from the scarlet rot stayed in caelid fighting the remaining cleanrot knights. We dont know how badly beaten they were prior to them meting in the battlefield but radahn had many weapons lodged into his back while fighting malenia in the cutscene. Malenia looked normal aside from the rot.

@@blackairforceenergy4055 Blaidd's dialogue doesn't concretely confirm it was conscious effort to hold back stars though. What you say is one way to interpret it, but there's no evidence indicating that it was something that required concentration and power to do. Besides if it did, then how would it not release if Radahn would sleep or the entire time he was insane. There's is no way he would keep his concentration or effort on the spell the entire time he was insane. As for the Millicent piece, well there's a sword monument that says Malenia and Radahn were locked in a stalemate then the Scarlet Flower blooms. Interpret these statements however you want. Yes while plenty of lore says Radahn is the strongest demigod, those are said before Malenia used her rot powers. Malenia brought a region to its knees, changed it's landscape forever, and took down its Lord with a single attack on a test run of her powers. I don't see what Malenia being in a coma has much to do with this though. Finlay found them unconscious and decided to bring Malenia home. We don't know how badly they were each hurt before the fight, but we do see blood on Malenia's face. And if you don't believe me about the interview, I suggest you look at it yourself.

I mean, Malenia kinda already is weakened by rot, considering she's infected with it and has lost limbs to it. It eventually becomes a source of power for her, but that is after (or I guess right at the end of) her fight with Radahn.

Malenia is just stronger than Radahn. Part of her arc is ascension to godhood

it was all miquellas plan after all like he manipulated malenia to fight radahn so that he becomes vulnerable and at the end die so she can again bring him back just to control him and create the new order. Note: miquella knew that if malenia goes to fight with radahn mohg will come and kidnap him it was exactly his plan and after that we tarnished would kill radahn and mohg so that miquella could transfer radahns soul into mohgs body and make him his consort to get the power he needed to make the new order as she was already an empyrean

We only ever see this “promise” from miquellas perspective, for all we know radahn said no, or backed out at some other point, I think it’s clear from the war that destroyed an entire area that one side of this did not agree to this deal

Miquella charmed Melania and even gave her the gold armor. All to get melania to kill rahdan, who miquella believes to be the strongest. If rahdan dies miquella could have an easy time turning rahdan into a consort but this fails. The plan failed until a fellow tarnished (us) slays him in the festival giving miquella the opening to make rahdan his consort.

Radahn wanted an honorable battle, Malenia gave him that, neither side won, so the rot god decided it was the right time to bloom.
