Uncas and Alice... A truest, unselfish, total giving love story.

Just wish that it would play on Netflix!

I remember trying to figure out if her body fell on his when she jumped. I replayed it over and over becuz it was such a quick shot. This silent and what would have been considered, back then as a forbidden love, was a big reason I loved this movie. Uncas was such a pure protector figure and Alice was a naive innocent, looking for her protector. When he died, her last hope was gone. The trauma was too much. The future she saw horrified her, as she knew the type of life she had to look forward to, especially knowing her protector was gone… it was too much. I’m not sure what was running thru Magua mind at the time, but for some reason it looked to have confused him. I think the idea of ending one’s life for another never occurred to him as logical, yet he would kill 1,000s, if he could, to avenge his lost loved ones. Although when he turned to leave, I’m sure he dismissed the idea of any regret over her.. he was hardened by that time. He might have even wondered why she would do it…as most would do anything to survive. Maybe he was even surprised at the bond that occurred. I’m sure any person at that time in history would have wondered at the bond since it was almost completely unheard of. Many white men had Native women, but the opposite was almost nonexistent except by force. By the way in the book it was Cora and Cora had West Indies blood. This made it more acceptable to the readers at that time.

I loved Uncas and Alice's chemistry together in the film. I loved their's more than Cora and Natty's. I just wanted to see more of Alice and Uncas. I cried when Uncas died trying to save Alice and then when she jumped that was intense. They shall be together even in death.

I'm going to say something that exposes my own family. The reason why the focus is on Cora and Hawkeye is because they are both Caucasian. Alice and Uncas is the more powerful story, but attitudes regarding love and race back when the book was written were not in favor of representing truth. Love is not restricted by those boundaries. My grandfather's grandparents were a Cree man and and a Swedish immigrant to Canada. Their love story was my family's great epic love. I'm not going to go into everything online for strangers, but pairings like theirs were more commonplace than we are often led to believe.

These movies leave a lot out..to your imagination..is it so you will have to buy the book if you want to know more? Movies sometimes do not explain everything..

The silent love between Uncas and Alice is the most beautiful love story ever. No words need to be spoken. It's in the way they look at each other and how they are always looking for each other. Their silent love was so strong that Uncas was willing to sacrifice his life while trying to save her. Her love for Uncas was equally as strong as she followed him in death, only to be with him for eternity. I have watched Last of the Mohicans countless times and my heart breaks everytime I watch it because of Uncas and Alice.❤😢
