I hope you are still doing good man and possibly have the GSR! I see in a newer vid where you said this is now dead channel, maybe when kids get older youd come back. I came to say I really appreciate this video, from reading countless forums and etc I thought it was gonna be near impossible to reach that 200whp range all motor. After seeing this video and how similar our builds are, I realized it was right within reach. Its helped me a ton with figuring out what I need to do, and for that I appreciate you so much! Do you have an issue where the intake cam won’t line up and have to hold it with a 14 ratchet not sure if it’s because of my dual valve springs?

Solid video I’m Going to do the same thing with stock cam gears but I’m switching all my internals to mimic the p73 including the ecu. Picked these cams because they are legal For me in California and also did the skunk2 manifold 🔥 👍🏾

If anyone is watching this video here us a massive tip for you youngsters. That oil pressure sensor hole is broken because the owner over tighten the oil sensor or he put a T in it that was the wrong size. That IS NOT a NTP fitting hole. It is a special Honda thread and pitch. ALWAYS buy the correct size pitch and thread T you put in that hole. Call Go-Autoworks. Greg has the specail thread T for that hole

How exactly did that pin get past the 4 pistons in the block ?? Making its way to oil pan is expected but not before landing on top of your piston, just cant figure this out after seeing it inside oil pan and nothing in bottom end was removed ?

I remember doing my first head gasket. It was my first car a ‘90 dodge Daytona I got for $200. Dropped a rocker bolt through the head into the oil pan. It was the last one too. I was maybe 2 hours from starting this car. Took 2 days and a whole lot of frustration to get the new oil pan gasket to stay put during install. Lesson learned

You don’t have to remove rocker rod for LMA’s only have to remove cams. Just replaced some today in a GSR head

Scrapped the block, i picked up a gsr short block. Going to put the ls crank rods and pistons into the gsr block. Its a better option anyways, stronger cylinder walls, main bearing cap girdle, no need for external vtec lines. It will be like a stroker GSR

@@maxherman4174 shit I’ve seen gsr bare head for $400 one with a malfunction like a fucked up valve or messed up surface for like $800 and a good one for $1000-$1200 Honda’s use to be cheap until now everyone wants to capitalize off their rare item but imo cheap vtec is the b16 head but where it’s actually cheap now is the d series

I have a USDM GSR wtih a usdm b18C.. jdm header/downpipe, stock IM. I've been wanting to add type r cams (or skunk2, i guess)..what other mods/tweaks are needed to get the most of it and protect the engine?

I spent about $3K on my build, you could to it for cheaper. Here’s my list: $700 - Hondata preinstalled in ecu (can be done for $500 if you install yourself or mail in your ecu for install) $170 - aem wideband $400 - CXRacing GT3071R turbo $600- Custom intercooler piping ( can be done way cheaper not going custom) $140- mishimoto intercooler $300 - Bosch 1000cc injectors $90- walbro 255lph fuel pump $30 oil sandwich plate $130 glow shift boost and oil pressure gauges $250 precision turbo wastegate $100 arp b18b headstuds $100 ebay vband down pipe $100 cometic mls head gasket $0- turbo manifold. Came with the car (can range anywhere from $120 to $1000+ new) $0- Tuning. Tuned the car myself on hondata and made 15 psi of boost reliably on the stock motor. a professional tune typically ranges between $500-800. I believe that’s everything directly related to boosting the motor. I’m currently in the process of swapping my parts over to my GSR, all of these parts are swappable to a vtec motor except the ECU. It’s under $100 to convert a non vtec ecu to vtec though.
