I just discovered your videos! So grateful to listen to your wisdom. My mother was raised in SW virginia near Bristol Tn on a large farm. I am in CA wanting to leave and return to the south. I am so amazed that so many people have moved to where I grew up in the Carolinas and Virginia.. I agree with you. Time is of the essence. Thank you

One month to the day of making the tincture (July 27, 2024) I have had my first sip, Believe me, a sip will do it. I have learned that red clover tincture will assist with sleep, I will let you know in the morning zzzzzzzz

yes, your braids are nice and they are nicely out of the way in a crown braid. I cut bangs when I was in my mid-40's and have kept them--brushed to the side. I love that you have kept your hair long, it is pretty. I usually put mine up, twisted into a bun snd secured with a couple of hair sticks or hair forks, preferably wooden ones.

I think of all the years I floated around in my swimming pool and the chlorine I absorbed makes me sick thinking about it. Praying for your mom.

I love this video! And your hair! I plan to grow anise hyssop next year! I intend to start making teas, and it will be a wonderful addition! The bugs are BAD!! We keep getting rain every few days, which is good for the garden, but also for the bugs! And I'm bad about keeping after the bugs. It was good to have a catch-up with you, Kaye!❤ I'm sorry about your mom. I lost my mom (and dad) in my mid-thirties. It wasn't unexpected, but watching my mom go downhill physically wad hard. She was only 79 when she died, but she had had multiple TIAs (which weren't understood at the time) and she couldn’t talk or walk. She could write, but it was hard. All her liquids had to be thickened as she had lost her ability to swallow. I felt guilty for being relieved when she died; but I miss her SO MUCH!! So much I wish I'd asked her. Same with Dad. Prayers for you❤✝️🙏 Hild on to your living hope!

I have replanted my bush beans 3 times this year. The bugs are terrible, but I'm stubborn! The yard long beans started off well, but the heat got to them. Just replanted the scarlet runner. I always enjoy seeing the bamboo oasis. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

You're living my dream life. Unfortunately, I'm in an urban area but I'm only 3 miles away from family. With my own vision problems and bad back, it's good. I'm praying your sweet mama just slips away as she wants. God needs more angels to combat the ugliness going on. 🙏 🙏 for you and all of us. ❤

You are so right about that! Everyone has to do what's right for them. As long as someone in the family is putting up food, whether grown or purchased, so you all can pool together for whatever they are planning for us. Whatever it is, it won't be good. Bless you!

How long should one allow the tincture to cure? Same with the oil.

6-8 weeks is the general time, but it won't hurt to go for months. Which I did and why the tincture is so dark. I started another batch a month ago.

We live in NE Texas. My wife gets torn up with chigger bites - even if out in the yard for just a few minutes. She has discovered that Lavender Oil is an excellent bug repellant. Oddly, I spend hours every day in the garden and I rarely ever get chigger bites, and I don't use any bug repellant.

Good morning, Kaye, Yes, I have commented on your videos in the past. I'm going to try and find which ones. If I recall correctly one of the videos was when you were driving to visit with family or something about your sister and you got stuck on the freeway or highway and it was at night., and you called AAA, they arrived hours late. And another when early on when you moved back to TN. Have a blessed and rewarding day. Tina/PA🙏

YES you remembered correctly! My sister had passed to our Heavenly Father the June previously. That was super bowl Sunday night on I-40, and I had been to visit my BIL and nephew of my sister for the first time since the funeral and bought some of my nephew's Duck River Honey. Thanks for being here! God bless you.

My grandmother, who lived in McMinn County, used to can corn. She would cut off the kernels 2 rows at a time. Then after she had cut off all the kernels, she would scrape the cob to get all of the goodness. That is what she canned. I loved, loved, loved my grandmother's canned corn. It was nothing like what you can buy at the store. We are in Cambodia now. We have rice 3 times a day. Cooking rice and dried beans uses a lot of water. That is something to consider for prepping. I remember chiggers.😬 Thanks for the tip on spraying the corn and sorghum. I hope to grow both when we move back to the U.S. God bless your sweet mama 🙏

So far away! I have just done that with a first batch of corn and my back hurts and my hand is tired scraping. I was planning to put it in the freezer. Probably only 2-3 quart bags. I saw a recipe this morning that I wonder how it would be pressure canned. You would have a complete cooked meal in a jar. Quinoa with scorched corn, tomatoes, peppers, onion, herbs and spices. I'll have to run this by my friend Theresa, the canning queen. I'm amazed that you are watching from Cambodia. What is the government like there now? We are all at the mercy of them, but the US is not supposed to be that way. Much love!

Home " canned" veggies are far diffrent than store-bought, the flavour and texture is all there if properly processed, my great grams had ball jars of veggies and fruits that were over 50 years old that were still quite good in her root caller in Iowa where its also sweltering hot and humid much like where you are. However, she was a master preserver and insisted on surgical cleanliness before canning anything. They were very poor financially but extremely wealthy in knowledge and land, and the use of that land. They raised their own livestock, and a large lot for feed of those livestock. The remainder was all Iowa bantam corn, peas, carrots, turnips, potatoes, and a huge herb garden both spices and medicinal since my great Grams was full native she had the knowledge passed down through the generations of healing herbs and foods. I feel so fortunate to have learned the knowledge of both my grandmother and great grandmother, and having their influence in my life, respecting mother earth, the waters and the sky. It looks like you have learned much as well, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences.👍👍👍💯

I wish I could have learned it from my grandmothers! It always seemed like we were in the way when they were trying to get big meals on the table. One died in '67 so decades before I discovered I could grow food in a tiny front yard in LA. My mother skipped a generation and had no food garden because we got so much from her mother and my other grandmother. So much has been lost. I'm trying to do what I can with my bad back, haha.

Hetty, you are amazing, and I've just sat down to read a few comments after cutting the kernels off the first batch of corn (bigger bag to go). That reminds me of the time I visited England. I'm sure you've watched all those videos. And the couple I met in (forgot the town but here's the video: x.com/cm677427/status/1816614879765364749) told me they wanted a frog in their pond on their allotment, but it was illegal to move frogs, so a frog would have to find their place on its own accord. Does that sound right? This was 2017. Happy birthday! You sound like you have an enviable life. Bless you, Kaye
