@@motomoog they definitely have a loud fan. Not ideal for recording at all. I always believe a good recording amp is a smaller low wattage unit. Often they have no fan or small ones. The Mark Bass Nano 300 I have only turns the fan on when it gets into heavier stuff and you’re pushing the speakers.

I am happy for you that you were able to fix it ! My guitar store told me those amps were impossible to repair (Boss Katana, Yamaha THR, Roland Blues Cube and Fender Tonemaster), all relying on components such as the ones you find in your phone ... That's the reason why I don't buy them, for the sake of the planet I don't want to change my gear and buy a new one before the end of the warranty, due to planned obsolescence problem. I only have valves amp, why are reparable. The only digital stuff I own is my Boss Waza Air headphone because it is soooo much convenient and doesn't need any cable at all.
@whatsstefon
@whatsstefon Ай бұрын
@@franckrichard8077 while it’s true, a B lot of things are unrepairable these days, it’s due to proprietary technology. You can’t seem to find off the shelf parts like chips, resistors and capacitors that will be easily found. But it can also be a case of the shop not wanting you to get it repaired and wanting you to buy something else. It’s in their best interest.

0:23 After pulling the amp selector knob off, remove the nut holding the selector to the black plastic surround. This is part of what holds the circuit board to the fram along with the nut/washer on the power switch and the screw holding the circuit board from the inside. As I am a tube man, I bought the 212r Fender amp only to have enough headroom if there is no PA on stage. Finally I love the clean sound of this 212R by using my pedals. With no effect pedals it is already pretty nice for a solid state and sounds typically "Fender", just a bit colder and punchier than my tube amp. As soon as I use the pedals, the difference in sound to my tube amp is minor in my ears, but the 212R stays a lot longer clean when cranked up. My tube amp goes into distortion when I play it loud, which is an unwanted effect to me. I prefer to use the solid state to stay as clean as possible. That´s what I need it for. No distortion at all is what I call my own style. The 212R is not very reliable. Therefore I will replace some resistors and diodes by better ones as soon as the amp restarts to have issues. By the way: I love my tube amp. I ever preferred tube amps, but the maximum clean headroom that I want comes out of a solid state amp.

@whatsstefon
@whatsstefon Ай бұрын
Nice work with the chain. Just remember to leave the manufacturer recommended slack to account for the swingarm movement. As for the brake squealing, it could be glazed. You could get away with trying to bed in the brakes again, but if it’s bad, it’ll require a new disc and pads. Machining discs is kind of a thing if the past these days as the discs are so thin to begin with. What causes it is generally riding the brakes. Take a look at your braking technique and adjust if necessary.

Have you got any tips on replacing a crown gasket on a similar tag. I’ve got a WK1221 that is just about failing a pressure test. Case back O ring looks perfect so I assume it’s crown gasket.
@whatsstefon
@whatsstefon 2 ай бұрын
I believe the gasket is within the crown. You’ll need to remove it, clean the crown in an ultrasonic cleaner, and replace the gasket. Don’t forget to silicon grease it. What sort of water pressure testing are you doing? If you use a tester with water in it, unlike the fancy new ones, you’ll see the source of the leak.

One minute with a q-tip would have cleaned around the seal on the back.
@whatsstefon
@whatsstefon 2 ай бұрын
We don’t use q-tips in Watchmaking. They will leave fibres behind which can enter the movement or stick to the silicon grease on the gaskets and completely negate the water resistance, allowing dirt and moisture to enter the watch. The watch was later manually cleaned using pegwood, and put through ultrasonic cleaning to remove build up dirt.

I have a 2007 Korean made Sheraton II that I inherited when my father died in 2015. Overall, it is a very well made guitar. It doesn’t sound as good as a multi-thousand dollar Gibson ES-335, but neither does it suck. I haven’t taken a pot out to double check, but as best I can tell by ‘looking’ in through the f-holes, it appears to have full sized pots, and the switch ‘looks’ like a Gibson/Switchcraft toggle switch. My Sherri was made in the Unsung factory. In an old Wildwood video, Greg Koch stated that the vintage burst 2007 Sherri II that he was reviewing/showcasing, had genuine USA made pots and switch. . .
