Hello! The Remote drain plug can be used on boats with a transom thickness of 3/4" or less. If your boat falls within those parameters, you will be able to install a remote drain plug. Hello! Apologies for the delay in our response. If a cable breaks while on the water, the plug is designed to stay in the housing. That being said, we would still recommend replacing the cable as early as possible. Also, the cable is made from stainless steel, so it's very durable!

At 2:45 of the video it says you will know the cells are full when the bulb becomes hard to squeeze.

It’s a manual switch that moves a stiff cable like the live well systems or a throttle control. If it fails, it is replaceable. Also, if the switch fails as long as you can move the cable, the plug can be engaged and disengaged by hand. I do not prefer a remote drain plug over the standard drain plug. My issues are trash preventing a positive seal, it allows less volume of flow, and is not robust enough. I always keep a plug inside my boat in case I lose the plug I can install one from the inside. I actually try to install from the inside anyway whenever possible.
