In Spain (where I'm from) there was a significant issue with pharmaceutical companies influencing doctors' prescribing habits through various incentives. These companies would offer doctors attractive perks such as all-expense-paid trips, luxurious gifts, or even financial bonuses, depending on the number of prescriptions prescribed their drugs. This practice raised ethical concerns because it potentially compromised patient care, leading doctors to prescribe medications based on the rewards offered rather than the best interest of the patient.

Thank you. This video is well worth watching. In 2011 I was told that I needed to take an antidepressant for life like a diabetic needs insulin, just like Dr Gotzsche said. I managed to get off antidepressants, 25+ years on and it took my 6 years to get off. Thankfully I found the website Surviving Antidepressants which provides information on how to get small doses. I was on Pristiq and here in Australia it is only available in 50mg and 100mg whereas other countries can get 25mg. Even 25mg increments would be took big a jump between doses. Fortunately I found a compounding pharmacy who were reasonably priced (and he kept the price the same for the whole time of my taper). Surviving Antidepressants suggests reducing by no more than 10% of the current dose (hyperbolic reduction) followed by a 4 week hold; and to hold for longer if you experience withdrawal symptoms. Oh yes, and I've been off for 2 1/2 years now and I'm doing better than I ever was being on the drug. And yes, my libido was very low. And I won't get started on how metformin and statins were the first thing I was told when diagnosed with diabetes. Thankfully I discovered low carb and managed to remit my diabetes in less than 3 months. And I'm now back to my ideal weight which I haven't been since the mid 1980s before having children.

Low dose lithium (several mg lithium orotate) seems to be helpful for alzheimers and even some bipolar.... The toxicity is much lower than prescription strength lithium carbonate. Higher lithium in water supplies is associated with lower alzheimers rates.

As a recovering Alcoholic, I can say that getting sober is easier than getting off antidepressants. After 36 years of taking antidepressants, I stopped taking them 3 weeks ago. I stopped drinking 6 years ago after 17 years of heavy drinking.

Another phenomenon that i have witnessed personally is people who have been on multiple psych drugs for a while are under the impression that (1) this is an indefinite solution and (2) that they need the drug. And this is only reinforced by aloof psychiatrists who mechanically dole out refills without taking the time or care to consider if continued treatment is in the paitents best interest. Take for example a person who is going thru a hard time in life and winds up on an antidepressant. Even after they make it through the tough situation, chances are they will remain on the drug. I am personally of the opinion that psych drugs like benzodiazepines and antidepressants can help a person overcome hardship when used in an acute way for a set period and then quickly withdrawn. But that rarely seems to be the case but rather treatment courses lapse into years

You betray the truth not talking about how the family is the center of the people being labeled mentally ill. You don't cover that psychosis is induced. And you don't cover that veterans have to claim PTSD for the percentage of their disability determines the percentage of their pay and the higher the percentage of their disability is the higher their pay is the higher the pills are in number. Pretty much you don't cover the basics.

The psychological meds is destroying my family and deteriating the mind of the woman I love. In the past 8 yrs I have noticed a decline in her mental health. I blame her doctor that over prescribed with out psychiatric evaluation. I believe her doctor changes her prescription, dosage in order to prolong taking the meds. Many mental episodes made me leave messages with her doctor leading to doc realizing she prescribed wrong dosage,and another episode the wrong med. Those 2 episodes were horrific. Now her doctor will not accept my messages. And to to it all off I rarely see my daughter and I have criminal charges against that stem from such episodes. I have no domestic charges and love my family. Family is my passion and dream. Depression has the best of me. I'm nothing more than a destroyed man , a dead man walking. I've been arrested for trying to save my family. Law enforcement is zero help I've begged and pleaded with law enforcement, hospitals for help and only get arrested or issued criminal trespassing. Not one tried to help save my family.
