There is a version of The Constitution that does not have the pursuit of happiness as the third major ideological point. It was changed with property. How is one to know what is correct?

The default nature of human awareness is satisfaction. Bliss is the default nature of our awareness and then a desire to fulfill a bodily need, or a heart or mind created need typically generated from a reflection of external influences, arises and blocks our original nature. Humans do not pursue happiness. Humans pursue the removal of the blockers of the original nature of our awareness, bliss. There's a reason they say that ignorance is bliss. It's because bliss is the original (absent of mind articulated relativity) nature of our awareness! This isn't something you can learn through books. This is only something you can learn by studying your own nature, an activity sadly missing from Western science.

Lee broke his oath and took up arms as an enemy to the very country his oath committed him to protect. He voluntarily took the oath and the oath says nothing about his home state of Virginia. Lee is a traitor pure and simple. The oath he broke was in use from 1790-1862: "I, A.B., do solemnly swear or affirm (as the case may be) to bear true allegiance to the United States of America, and to serve them honestly and faithfully, against all their enemies or opposers whatsoever, and to observe and obey the orders of the President of the United States of America, and the orders of the officers appointed over me."

Hate to tell you, but the oath you take is to the Constitution, not the Federal government. Lincoln did not have the constitutional authority to call out troops, and did Congress, since the southern states were no longer represented? McChrystal is playing politics.

The tragedy of Lee is not that he was a flawed human being, we all are. The tragedy is that he had no moral clarity. He crushed John Brown in 30 minutes because he thought he was a force too extreme against the Union. He fought alongside his classmates who were in the Union army against any foe. But when it came to deciding if his oath to the country was less important than the wishes of Virginia, he made a horrifically bad decision. Lincoln offered him command of the army and he refused. To Grant, Sherman and his Union army classmates, anything he did after that, while sad, was treasonous.

States had much greater weight during the Civil War. Lee thought of himself as a Virginian first, American second. We shouldn't judge him with today's standards.

General McChrystal was right most of his life but is wrong now. Lee did NOT lead the Southern army “for the maintenance of slavery”. He lead it to defend his home from the Northern invasion. Lee was one of the most honorable persons America ever had. Remember what Ronald Reagan said: “The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally - not a 20 percent traitor.”

Preclearance was a provision in the Voting Rights Act, which compelled states with a history of racial discrimination, to submit redrawn voting district maps, to Congress, instead of the Supreme Court. Question: Who is solely responsible for eliminating this provision, from the Voting Rights Act? Answer: Supreme Court Justice, John Roberts. If you're a student of the John Robert's Court, you've found opinions with hidden agenda's to power grab, from other branches, of government. Destroying preclearance usurping Congressional oversight, was just one example. How about SCOTUS's latest attempt, to water down executive branch agency power, like the FDA, and EPA. They are neither medical or scientific experts. They rely on advice from outside sources, with hidden financial agenda's. So we must watch this dangerous court, and their opinions. Why the Trump document case involving top secret classified information ended up in the courts, as opposed to the Defense or National Security branches, still boggles my mind. Think about it. This case could also end up, in the Supreme Court. So are we headed for one controlling Supreme Judicial branch of government, where all other current branches, no longer have power? Think about it.

The Constitution, as America, was an Experiment. The Constitution has been such a failure that it has had to be Amended 27 Times. Most of those Amendments are frivolous and fraudulent. Like paying taxes on your income! The Founding Fathers were absolutely against that, but the Bankers changed that real quick. It's worthless today. The Constitution was meant for a Moral and God Loving People, to all others it is meaningless.

Commerce in gunpowder/explosives as firearms propellants were not controlled by the monarch? Manufacture was not controlled by the Crown? The elements of gunpowder was unregulated, and freely available and not centrally administrated? Arms were crafted throughout the colonies and states. We can see that gunsmithing was widely available as an offshoot of metal fabrication, of course. Gunpowder, however, was strictly controlled.

Question how many years after the end of the Revolutionary War did it take for the 13 nation of America to become 13 United States? What year was Robert E. Lee born? The problem with Civil Wars is that it can take up to 500 years afterwards to sort things out. A clear example of that is the 750 year struggle between Russia and Ukraine. One thing that Americas cannot process is that nations are born, they live, they die. To prolonge the life of anything that thing must change as the conditions inwhich it lives changes. If Robert E. Lee were alive today he like each of us now say would say that it is better that we drive the last nails into the coffin of a dead institution than sacrifice the whole nation. After the Revolutionary War all but one of the of the Northern State which had been slaveholding states since the Mayflower landed let the perculiar institution die to build a new nation. And remember Delaware was a slave holding state north of the Masion Dickson Line to the bitter end. If I were to vote I would have voted with Lincoln. That is about as much as I know and as much as I am willing to say. The 500 years to resolution is not yet up.
