Hey Straight Edge - great video! I really like that mini-kukri-karambit! I will definitely buy one when my local supplier gets them in stock. Very unique and so much functionality! Thanks for the video, I subscribed to your channel.

After only seeing a pic of the knife I knew that girly pairing knife from Walmart was the inspiration. You will definitely be paying for the quality & ruggedness you'll be getting from Tops. I personally having a hard time paying 20x the cost for a tool when the $8 version works just find not to mention that shoukd you ever use it for self defense who knows how long it will be locked up as evidence. Tops makes some great knives, but would love to see them make a lighter minimalistic version of this or a birds beak pairing knife in even the $75 range.

I’ve wanted an Operator 7 for a while, but haven’t been financially able to do it. Too many other blades to get first. I was fortunate enough to have Leo hand me a prototype off his desk before it even had a name. I told him the thickness reminded me of the old Buckmaster 184 that I had decades ago, but it was much more practical in hand. 👍🏼🇺🇸👍🏼

@bigjayroadstar1700 Yeah, I sent that comment before I heard you mention it in the video. But I have one more question. Are they gonna do the size 10 and 12? Because I got ripped off by "Survive knives" but I really like the designs. Would like the chance to buy them from a reputable company. ( the 8 and 12 that is)

Ya got a fake one, the market has been totally saturated with noc offs. That paint is a dead give away its a powder coat on the real deal. ALSO yours is stamped wrong on one side. It should say "Olean , NY USA" its missing the USA text . The real sheath also has a plastic that kind of has a strange sparkle or texture to it . These brown ones seem to be the most copied of the two colors. The color is off compared to the actual Kabar Becker BK18. Im sorry man, so many people are getting ripped off.

I was going to buy one at my local Sportman Warehouse. They have the ones that don’t say USA and their website has note on that in the product description saying that’s how they come now but it’s still legit. I still didn’t buy it but definitely doing some research before hand
@airiksknifereviews9548
@airiksknifereviews9548 16 күн бұрын
@knot05 I don't trust buying them from anyone other than legit established vendors. The fake ones are everywhere and are very close looking to the real ones. I'd speak with kabar directly ...All I know is mine, which is a few years old now, says USA . Also even after I stripped the powder coat, it still says Kabar Becker Olean NY USA . I'm willing to bet the fake ones are not Lazer marked. The Gerber Strongarm was easier to spot than these BK18s , it really sucks for kabars bottom dollar.

The steel choices are are appropriate, 1095 knives & 1075 sword. I wonder why 1075 instead of 5160 spring steel for the sword. I understand the larger the blade the lower youd go in the 10xx steel series for impact resistance/toughness reasons. My kukri is 5160 and is tough as a dad (a motherf'er 😂). Your products all look well made and get great reviews. The grinds on those knives look super usefull and well executed. The handle and tip/blade shape of the sword reveal the philosophy of the martial arts its born from. I hope to add these to my collection.
