Thanks for this informative video. I am going to paint a pale pink velvet bed frame black (that's the plan, anyway-I hope the final colour will be black or at least a dark grey!). But I have an important question: How long after you painted your chair did you do the sanding?

Pretty good? Who wants "pretty good" for their paint? I want consistent, high quality paint. Is Waverly that kind of paint, or just pretty good? I'm a beginner and really need to know what's best. Thank you for clarifying. I appreciate your work. And someday I hope to be as good as you are. Thanks again.
@amydillardGypsySoulАй бұрын
Hey- thanks for the comment! Chalk Paint can get quite expensive, so when I said Waverly is pretty good, I guess I mean it's a good value. The quality is high-medium and the price is relatively low. Plus it's easier to find than some smaller brands. I think the gold standard is Annie Sloan chalk paint, the originator, but it is significantly more expensive and may be harder to source depending on where you live. Viewers have varying goals and budgets they are able to work within. Hope that helps you find what's perfect for you. Happy painting!!

Would you please share how you best paint spindles? thank you
@amydillardGypsySoulАй бұрын
Painting spindles I usually prefer a brush that's rounded on top like a chalk paint brush or a narrow rounded brush made by Zibra (you can find them at stores like Home Depot.) It helps me get more paint where I want it, but painting spindles is still rather tedious because you really do have to paint from all 4 sides to make sure you aren't missing spots. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!!

Just got my first booth at a mall near a large tourist town and I couldn't believe how good I've been doing the first couple weeks. A lot of your points are what I did when I decided on location. Location is definitely the key to secess or failure in my mind. I probably walked 25 malls many times. I think I walked the mall I decided with 15 times before I moved in. I waited out for a very good window booth.

Love your painting furniture video, it’s the most practical one that I have seen! I have three huge great almost new condition light coloured high end wall Persian carpets that need to be upcycled somehow? Any ideas n doing something similar with these? Maybe using a garden spray pump type container to apply first water then a gray or? I want to use them as they’re gorgeous.

Beautiful! I love the chair that turned out purple💜I’ve always been afraid to paint furniture. I have a few chairs my cats have scratched up and I would love to paint them. It wouldn’t matter what colour they turned out. Maybe I will try it! Great video and info ❣️

If you enter into KZfaq ''How to Paint Fabric Chairs - Annie Sloan Pain - One Year Later''... you will see my painted and waxed result. . I used a thickish coat of Annie Sloan GRAPHITE on both chairs, which you can see me doing in an earlier video, and this is the result a year later. It has now been seven years and they still look and feel amazing! I did use wax and it gave them a fantastic leathery feel and look... VERY hard wearing. Thanks for your video xx

Your best tip was the woman painting in her booth to sell her paintings. I carve spoons and people will stop to watch me. If they don't stop, they never buy... But if you can get them to stop... You have a shot.
