There was a birthday in my office and a coworker had the balls to ask how old I am in front of everybody! It was so damn awkward! someone immediately asked him as well, and guess what, he went "I don't wanna say it" -.- (he is in his 40s and im in my 30s)

Oh dear. I have a family reunion coming up and I have gone no contact with most of these people for years now. Any suggestions about how to answer such questions as "what have you been up to/where have been?" And "where do you work" as well as asking about my relationship status, I would be so grateful. These are wonderful answers in the comments section and this channel is so tailor made to me ❤ the algorithm did its thing today lol

I get caught off guard with nasty questions and answer it but later realize I didn't want to. For example, my roommate asked me about my wage and I felt uncomfortable yet I still answered but it's like I don't care how much he makes.

I would just keep the answer very brief "No thank you" with a polite smile. If they ask again, you say "No thank you" with a polite smile, then turn away. Giving a reason like"its a diet, allergy, sensitivity, im not hungry, ive already eaten" etc just gives them an opportunity to offer you food at a later date and make a song and dance about "Oh this recipe doesnt have your allergens etc etc". If you're firm but kind, they will offer again, but they won't be able to quote the reasons why you didn't eat last time. Just say "No, thank you". And keep it moving. I have a coworker who always cooks and trys to alter the recipes to suit my dietary needs, but i dont want to eat food from them. If i could go back in time, i wouldnt have explained my dietary needs because its not their business, and it's tiring having a reason to explain why i won't eat their food this time.

I am genuinely sorry for this person. She is personable and pleasant to watch and listen to. The advice she gave is found on several internet sites. She meant no harm. There was no gimmick, no scam, and no ill intention. Why were people so cruel in their comments? For those who had a bad experience trying to remove a stain from their bags, types of leathers and types of ink can change the end result of the task. I was lucky using the alcohol and the magic marker remover. Very happy customer. Thank you.

I can not stand it when people ask nosy questions in rapid succession; especially at work. I had someone disrupt my classroom today to ask how many kids I have, where they go to school, where I was going next year, what career I was going to pursue, etc. I told her I was a free spirit and I did not have it figured out yet. I don't like to give hard and fast answers because when I change my mind, I don't want anyone to later call me a liar. She literally only started talking to me after weeks of just staring; my first reaction to her was that something was off. So I felt like she was just data mining for some nefarious purpose. Also, if they make you feel uncomfortable, that is probably the Lord shielding you from a narcissist.

Watching this as invited to my freinds wedding, never been to one and want to make sure I don't mess up as it's an incredibly important day for her.

I wish I would’ve known before naively answering every noisy question that was asked. Gesh 🤦‍♀️

When I first watched this video, I didn’t understand why she was stating the obvious. This is pretty much how everyone I knew grew-up. To sum it up, “be nice to everyone.” Unfortunately, later or earlier in life, people become complacent or just go with the flow. It’s not easy to stay being nice. I was once confused when someone commented that they had never heard me swear. That gave me a lot to think about. Different jobs also have different people. Not everyone likes nice people. They get suspicious.

Common questions lately are where do you work and what do you do for work - I don't think my occupation is someone's business- and a lady did that yesterday out of nowhere and said don't you work for ??? I'm thinking why does it matter in my mind this is not a job interview, and I answer the question due to on the spot in front of other staff I am frustrated cause it's not a topic of a subject

Thank you very helpful. Another idea might be to turn the conversation back to the person or even say I don't know what do you think about that? Thinking about the age question perhaps you could say mmmm older than I was and younger than I will be😂 years ago whilst becoming qualified to train we had to deal with difficult people and I'm sure we were taught that we had to give them something to do so I thought asking for their opinion in a generic sense about a question might be a good one too.
