Hi, this was an amazing review. However, I have a question about how to adjust and achieve the correct hip position for a baby using the Baby Bjorn Harmony. Specifically, many baby carriers nowadays have specific support features for newborns. How can we manually adjust the Baby Bjorn Harmony to maintain this M shape for proper hip positioning? Thanks
@SheenSlingsКүн бұрын
Hi! So you can adjust the width to match baby using the zips at the bottom of the carrier. There is also an internal zip to shorten the panel for a new born and the panel height can be further adjusted via the poppers at the top. To help maintain a "spread squat position" or M shape the key is to tuck baby's bum under and then adjust the zips so the fabric supports the back of the knee but no further. I hope that helps - if not I do offer online consultations and can run through and fit check for you online.

Thank you so much for this video! I’ve watched it at least 5 times. I don’t wear the carrier very often so I always watch this video while putting it on to make sure I’m doing correctly. Question, as they get bigger/longer, do you no longer fold the waist strap over twice?
@SheenSlings7 күн бұрын
Glad it is helpful. Yes as little one grows you no longer fold the waistband at all. I have another video on this channel showing it unfolded for 2m +. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gLuHpNRjt6jIink.html

@SheenSlings10 күн бұрын
Ah I am sorry to hear this... Carriers are alot like jeans different brands fit different people and so sometimes a particular carrier just won't give a good fit on some bodies. Although in general the waistband often sits more comfortably on your true waist rather than your hips so raising the waistbanf and ensuring it is tight so it doesn't tip down at the front onto your hip bones might really help. Check out my video on 3 reasons your carrier is giving you back pain (also on this channel) for more explanation on why and how.

@@alinatupcil4377 hi! So the isara Trendsetter is a toddler carrier and won't fit until little one is going into age 2 clothes so definitely not that one. Of the other 3 the Lenny lite and the Ergobaby Omni Dream are far more versatile than the Baby Bjorn and fit a greater range of body types/shapes and sizes. Between those two choose the Ergo if you like something quite structured/firm/well padded and in plain colours. Choose the Lenny Lite if you prefer something softer, sleeker and in brighter bolder prints and colour ways. Hope that helps. I do have both available to hire of you live in the UK that way you could try one or both and properly road test and see how they work for you before investing. And/or I sell both and ship internationally. Best! Madeleine

Did not know that a carrier like that could do a hip carry! I’ve been using a ring sling for a hip carry but found I’m having to lean to the side a lot and it’s giving me neck and shoulder tension, and it’s a thick fabric. Would love to know if it’s safe to use wraps for back carries and also how to support the necks of bigger babies (mine is 8mo) when they sleep. And I am curious about cooler, lighter weight fabrics 😂 thank you!
@SheenSlingsАй бұрын
Hi Steph, thank you for your questions! You can use many buckle carriers on the side like this, although it depends on the carrier and the buckle placement. But if you can cross the straps across your back you can hip carry. For all your other questions I can definitely help - i offer online consultations where we could meet online and we could go through tweaks to improve comfort with your ring sling, explore back carries and lighterweight options.

Hi there, I have an almost 8 month old baby boy, weighing around 9kg-10kg who is already in 12-18 months clothing. I am contemplating getting the Beco Gemini for the breathable mesh as he gets warm being held but also I would get quite hot walking and holding him. I also like that it is lightweight. The carrier would only be used for light shopping, small walks and around the home. I also like the Ergobaby Omni Breeze, but I'm leaning more towards the Beco Gemini, only because it seems the one that would be best suited to our body temperature. Would greatly appreciate your opinions on the matter as I have been watching your videos and they are very helpful. Thanks 🙂
@SheenSlingsАй бұрын
As he us in 12-18 month clothing already I would be really worried he will out grow the Beco Gemini very quickly... making it nit really worth the investment. Likewise for the Ergo... although this does last a bit longer it doesn't last loads longer and its really not lightweight. Instead I would take a look at the Izmi Toddler Breeze as this us really lightweight and cool and fits from 9 months to 4 years

I personally believe you make this look and sound worse than it is. I found this carrier amazing! I had a caboo carrier but whenever I wear it I have to constantly adjust and tighten it throughout wearing it because it loosens on baby and he starts slipping down and shifting around etc. Does the same thing on my mum. This carrier fits super well on both myself and my mum, and we have a 30kg+ difference between us and I have a large size 12J bust, you just have to position the back band correctly to start with. It feels so supportive and comfortable and requires no further adjusting once it’s on. The shoulder straps are perfect for both myself and my mum and don’t need to be adjustable for us personally. Once you have the straps tightened to your preference after the first wear and the wrap already threaded through the back (not difficult to do) it’s so easy to put on and get going, just pop over your head, clip, pop baby in, tie and go! So much easier than the fluffing that’s required with a more traditional wrap style like my caboo carrier. This wrap has the best of both worlds of a clip style carrier and a wrap style. Your video almost put me off purchasing one and I’m so glad it didn’t! Love this wrap so much. Super easy and sooo comfortable.
@SheenSlings2 ай бұрын
I am glad to hear it worked for you and your mum. That is fab! The Caboo shouldn't require adjusting at all once little one is in and so I am wondering if yours wasn't threaded correctly if it was slipping? But ultimately it doesn't matter as you found a carrier that worked and I am happy you did! Thanks for sharing your experience

So glad I found your channel! Subscribed! Do you have a carrier you’d recommend for a 5ft curvy woman? I was going to get this one, but I want to carry my 14 month old front facing. I did get a carrier on Amazon called Safotad baby carrier with hip support that is okay, but the shoulder straps are too loose. This is my first time carrying my baby/pre-toddler; I’m a little late to the baby-carrying game. He likes it! He looks around, looks up back at me, happily reaches for things. He weighs about 22 lbs. I’d add the sometimes I go out with my son on adventures sans my husband (like the museum, botanical gardens, stores), so a carrier that isn’t too complicated to put without helping hands would be great. Thanks so much for your great advice!!
@SheenSlings2 ай бұрын
So I definitely have ones I recommend for your body shape but there really isn't a carrier that I would recommend for outward facing at 14 months. I mean there are ones that will work but little one will grow out of them really soon and its just not worth the ££. I would recommend smaller toddler carriers like the Izmi Toddler, the Kahu Toddler or the Manduca XT, Lenny Upgrade.. all of which will give you a lot of longevity but won't give you outwards facing. But they all would give you a back carry... which gives the same view as outward facing (just over your shoulder) and will be alot kinder on your back as baby grows.

It is comfortable for back carries although not everyone loves the feeling of the unpadded shoulder straps. It does come in a "breeze" mesh version that is fab for hot climates. Or another option that is light weight and cool but has slightly more padded shoulder straps is the Kahu Toddler

Thank you! Super helpful! I already have an Ergo Adapt, that I liked a lot with my older kid, but I am unsure wether it would be the right thing for a newborn in summer (baby will be a big one). Therefore I think about getting this one too, though the Adapt technically is also usable from birth on. What do you think, is it worth getting this one in addition or is it unnecessary?
@SheenSlings3 ай бұрын
I think this will feel alot more natural in those very early days compared to the bulk of the adapt. But likely you will move onto the adapt quickly so it might feel not completely worth it. I would look at whether it is possible to hire one for the 4th trimester, rather than buy. I offer this if you are based in the UK or i am sure others do this elsewhere too.
