I just finished chapter 3 in Geddy's new book "My Effin' Life". This song makes way more sense now after reading what his parents actually went through. So sad. Makes me angry actually

I recently finished Chapter 3 of Geddys " My Effin' Life". Its the first time i see this video. Very moving. Even more so now that i read Geddys words about his parents atrocious treatment at the hands of those evil fascists. Well done Rush. Thank you for being such Great teachers.

She gave such a wonderful over the top performance. I'd have loved to have seen her reintroduced later on in the series. A pre-quel with her backstory would have been great. Go back to the really grizzly 70s slasher feel. Perhaps the descent into psychosis began pre-Jason's death. The original was only topped by Jason Lives in my opinion. Thanks to Betsy's chilling turn and the jump off your seat scares.

My father in law was a Jew and was one of the kindest people I ever knew! It was a privilege to know him and have him in my life for 23 years! He even paid for me and my exs honeymoon to Acapulco! Rest in peace dear Alan!

Despite this, the title of the song is "Red Sector". Look man. Communism is here. Fascism is here. Here comes Nazism. All the same.

She never took into account that her acting alone would make this movie good! It was mostly a terrible movie SHE made it amazing with her role at the end.

So I’m 23 so I wasnt alive to see much of the fallout of WW2 but I’ve always been interested in the history of it. My dad introduced me to Rush when I was probably 14 or 15 but I never really dove deep into their discography until the past few months. As soon as I heard this song I was almost positive it was about the concentration camps but didn’t know about Lee’s parents surviving them. Just makes the song that much heavier. This whole album is amazing, one of my favorites. This song, paired with the scenes from Band of Brothers, is a whole different feel. Both great works of art about the same thing combined to further show the horrors those people went through. Amazing stuff

I can't add much to what's been said here. But it moves me the way the young Allied soldier surveys the destruction and desperation in the victims and just breaks down at 4:11, probably wondering how people who hold political power could be so heartless and is of course hurting for all these people. 💔 I can't imagine what it would be like to be a liberator/Allied soldier seeing fellow humans in absolute distress like this. And to think everything that's going on in Eastern Europe and Ukraine right now is scarily similar to these disgusting camps and the Cold War. Let's make sure history doesn't repeat itself, people. Love always wins, as Morrie Schwartz said. ❤

First, I heard it in 1983 with knowledge of what it was based on. Now, with proper understanding, this blows my mind. I have no words to express my innermost feelings to the Jewish Holocaust heroes.

This is why it makes me really sick the way the left throws around the word Nazi about everything they don't agree with. These people don't really know what that word really represents. What a powerful video this is and Neil is fucking brilliant writer especially about such an emotional subject.

Growing up we didn’t have things like Wikipedia … or google … or anything like that so all I knew about Geddy Lee was that he was able to play bass/keyboards/pedals and sing at the same time. When I found out that his family were Holocaust survivors this song became EXTREMELY emotional for me. For Neil to pen this and for Geddy to sing it is so powerful. Neil is not only the greatest drummer - he’s the greatest storyteller in rock music… people should remember him for these tales and the human element they convey. Thank you Neil! Thank you Geddy (Gary) and Alex. And thank YOU for posting this.

I'm sure the money she got from autograph signings at conventions far exceeded $10,000. The residuals couldn't have been much, but all those airings on TV kept new generations interested in her.
