So on a Vehicle Equiped with Airbag and Limited Rotation of the Steering Wheel, Full Hydro Steer doesn't stay aligned with the Steering Wheel Placement like normal linked Steering. How do you deal with the centering and hard pin left or right drifting off the Steering Wheel?
@justnsaliga8518 Жыл бұрын
im looking at doing full hydro steer on my superduty. from what i gather they have a Re-centering valve. and a check ball with a spring and the stiffness of that spring determines how hard it will (recenter) and they will naturally recenter i don't really offroad the truck i don't work it often. just looking to get rid of ALOT of moving parts in favor of stronger hydraulic steering system. and its got the benifit of being less complex. and lighter weight steering. and Hydro steer systems are easier to steer with no power (dead engine) than your normal power steering with a gearbox.
@jamesrobinson5801 Жыл бұрын
@Justn Saliga If you do, put a video together and tag it here. Im curious how it turns out. I want to do a full hydro but still uneasy as my family will be with me and unfortunately due to demographical limitations of my address it will see more highway than trails to get to the locations. If it was just me, Im game. Like you said its the "Less Moving Parts" for me as well as front suspension limitations of my owned two offroad rigs. (2003 Durango & Dakota). Both have been EXTREMELY Reliable and plenty of power to rubber stock. I picked them because I didn't want to fall in the mind numbing group of Jeeps or typical offroad ".com bolt on built-up rigs". Turning radius is great. 4.7l and trans have both so far has been solid. I have chewed through a gear box on both and rear heat control damper broke this winter in the Rango so there isn't heat control in the rear now. Aside from that, I haven't run into oil consumption issues that I was tol I would have issues with, one does smoke if left to idle for extended periods "+40min", only poofs a bit once you open the throttle a bit to clear it out then its golden. The Rango just started to leave a small snail trail of oil from the oil psi sending unit. I love these rigs and feel they are looked over to ofton. I keep up with most Jeeps and other rigs just fine, but a DEPENDABLE full hydro setup would open my rigs to a whole new level...

Dude, ur not far from me at all! Small world. Found your channel by looking up tube chassis builds- glad to see ur able to do what ur plans were man. I want to get a smaller rig like that haas machine ( don’t have the shop space for an industrial size ) but I can cad drawl and design stuff fairly good with auto desk fusion.

How are you making the stretch? I'm looking to do the same to my 2 seater. I want to turn it into a 4 seater. I've been having a hard time finding 4 seater front frames. Just curious how strong the 2 seat frame would be if I stretched it like that 🤔
