Hi. Are you still liking this guitar 3 years later?

MANY THANKS for that simple demonstration. You captured the essential flavour of the relatively straightforward but deceptively subtle mechanics of the rules, which make for a very easy to learn game, but one that can ebb and flow alarmingly, depending on the capricious “luck of the dice” and can gratifyingly reward or mortifyingly punish those who are brave enough (or reckless enough…) to “push their luck” further than their opponent… One error that you made a few times however - just for clarification - was to forget that any failed activation die IMMEDIATELY offers a “reaction” die roll for the opponent, BEFORE the player who had the initiative gets to complete their successful activation roll(s).

Dwarf Ranger...walking contradiction:-) Just kidding here mate! I got into asobah just recently and am desperately seeking any info about this game (not that many -well not on YT - sadly) but this game - I must say - is one of those precious few that I like to call " a Jewel among many others", definitely one of my favorites along BoB and Epic Heroes, mostly due to where I come from ( heavily RPG influenced tabletop player..) Again best of luck and happy wargaming.

Nice guitar! What is the neck profile?
@andrewcollins44583 жыл бұрын
Haven't played this model but other Edward's are medium 59
@hackdog69 Жыл бұрын
Mine has a 60’s profile

For the reaction on the one failure of the second dwarf, when you let the skeleton stand up, you would have to roll the reaction die, dont you? A failure just gives you the roll for an activation (reaction). its not automatically granted. Great game! I bought the supplements as well at ganesha games.

correct mate! Surely a great game!!! And tbh the entire range of Andrea's games is great!

is the finish nitro?
@andrewcollins44583 жыл бұрын
No there poly
@paulgodin11662 жыл бұрын
I've got a Edwards from 2006 which has a nitro finish, it may depends in fonction of the year, idk
@emdeel57092 жыл бұрын
@@paulgodin1166 the ones with nitro is just the final coat sprayed over a poly finish. They were known as the lacquer taste series or LTS on the end of the model number. Still great guitars though
@unclefungus73952 жыл бұрын
they have different finishes, the customs are pretty much all poly. the standard lp’s come in sd(poly) ltc(poly with nitro top coat) ltc re(relic’d poly with nitro top coat)and als(full nitro finish) als is also available in relic’d form. the nitro topcoat/ fullfinishes are available from mid to top range standards 125-135 and goldtop’s are only available in poly finish.

Great little review! I think it is important to note that in Advanced SOBAH you do not automatically pass initiative to your oponent on two failures. Your opponent may choose to do two reactions instead :)

These are great. I'd get the cheery red over the black body.

Movement isn't done as normal ruler measuring is. Short may be 3" but you don't move the front of the model to the 3" mark. This is why you should have your 3 different sticks for short, medium and long. Movement is done by leap frogging the stick. In cases like this a model with a larger base will over a period of turns actually get further ahead of a smaller model with the same move. Seance your measuring from the front of base and then resting the back of the base to the front of the stick, a larger size base gains. It's just easier to use the appropriate size sticks rather than a standard ruler.

Love this game :-) I don't think you can just pick up and move the prone skeleton and stick the ghoul in , though.

I have heard this amp sound stellar and not so great. really depends on who is playing it.
@tonyhind69926 жыл бұрын
Could you easily use them as generic rules. And is there an ability to use mecha. I am looking for some rules for 15mm sci-fi games.

Found the exact same guitar in Bangkok, Thailand at a reasonable price but I wanted to find an independent review. Thanks for putting something up.

I'm glad I could help sir, I ended up moving it on for one reason or another, but I'm looking back at this video with envious eyes!

Can it do classic rock?
@eschatologistmusic7 жыл бұрын
It's made for Classic Rock dude, if any band used a Marshall Plexi or a JCM-800 then this thing nails it.
@kommi19747 жыл бұрын
Just ordered the 20 myself. Great tones. I wonder if it will cover some 70's rock too? Hoping so as I play a lot of classic rock.
@eschatologistmusic7 жыл бұрын
Thanks :) In my opinion it just flat-out rules for 70's-80's rock of all flavours. Of course, I use it for blues, jazz, metal, etc. and it's fine there. Got a cracking clean channel too - Im sure you'll really enjoy it. Good luck!
@terrylafauci7917 жыл бұрын
do you think this amp could get a fairly decent modern metal tone at relatively low volumes?
@eschatologistmusic7 жыл бұрын
It would be wasted tbh - it gets very saturated when it's dimed but the tightness drops and it's quite hairy. It sounds GREAT at low volumes but you'd probably want something like an MXR 5150 or Diezel VH4 pedal to give you the sound, at which point spending money on a Friedman is a bit of waste when some other solid state amp would perform the same function.
@terrylafauci7917 жыл бұрын
AE85 yea, I think I'm gonna just gonna try for the EVH 5150 lll 50w or a PRS Archon
@eschatologistmusic7 жыл бұрын
I would honestly check out the MXR 5150 pedal or the JHS AT over getting an EVH amp - the pedal really really does get you that sound, and you don't have to dump loads of cash into a one-trick-pony amp. I've never played the Archon, tho. Have you considered a Victory Kraken?
@terrylafauci7917 жыл бұрын
AE85 yes, I've heard good things about the Kracken but I played on the EVH 5150 lll 100w and honestly, I was satisfied with the tones I was getting at volumes I could easily. so I'm sure the 50w will be ok. I've never played the Archon but I was told it can achieve great tones at any volume, they say it sounds similar to what you would get if blend the original 5150, mesa dual rectifier and a bogner uberschall.

Will this amp do 80's hair metal? Or would I need a Tube Screamer to take it there., thanks
@eschatologistmusic7 жыл бұрын
Definitely, it's super strong in that field. Is there something in particular you'd like to hear? I can try to whip up a quick demo for you. I have an MXR MicroAmp+ in the front if I really need to gun it, but that's very rare as I think generally we as guitarists overdo gain a fair bit.
@chasingtone57487 жыл бұрын
Cool, yea! In the steel of the night by WhiteSnake Rhythm and the Lead. This is the styles that I play. Just wondering if this amp has the tone and gain to do so before I was to order it, and thanks for the fast reply
