One good thing is that bag can never come undone when it shouldn't, lol. Great gear setup as usual, fella. Hadn't realised you got rid of your camping gear. You never know. You might get that passion back. Have you heard of the reach right handle for garden tools? There meant to be really good.

I.. managed to file down the crusader mug..took ages...in the end it did fit the 58 Webb water pouch...😊...makes a good display piece 😮...its the lip that holds it back...also has the crusader cooker and upside down 58 water bottle...

If you swap the handle of the main pot to the other side, it would lock into a 90° angle and it would't get hot.

Hey Mate - I am from Australia (rural) and honestly you have been unlucky. I bought mine today and I got a cattle suede and it’s perfect!! Just absolutely sensational quality. I feel for you Buddy - I have to disagree. Best hat ever!! Perhaps contact them directly as they would love to hear from you

Because I bought it on the Internet, you can't check the condition on the Internet. I got it from Uttings, they don't sell second hand products.

3 years on, what would you say about this Spanish made Dutch Bivvy? How is it in the rain? How is it in winter? Are the zips holding up? Any condensation issues? Is it possible to fit an inflatable mat and a down quilt and still have space to side-sleep? Also, at 9:53 you say that in fact it's better than the standard Dutch Gore-Tex bivvy. In which way? Thanks!
@JohnGoesWalkabout
@JohnGoesWalkabout 2 ай бұрын
I've only used it four times in the three years but it's been good so far. No water leaks or condensation and the zippers still good. The standard bivvy is just a waterproof sleeping bag cover that leaves your face exposed to biting insects. Whereas the hooped bivvy is fully enclosed.

I saw a video from a professional chef who puts water in with the bacon. Seems counter intuitive, but it helps nicely brown it and crisps up. I do it all the time now at home. I’m thinking it would be perfect for mess tins.

If you tie two separate lines to the tops of both inner tent polls and run them under and out of the rain fly at either end you can tension the inner tent for a better pitch.

every knife was outlawed in japan except for this knife until they banned these too so for a period they were designed to be impossible to use as a weapon and they had to have the makers mark on it or it wasn’t a government approved knife so you couldn’t thin the blade to gets them really sharp. most of the modern versions which are all the same company are better than the ones people had during this knife restriction period so you will see them slicing but if you take a close look you will see what i mean. this would eventually happen if they took our guns everyone would carry a knife and then eventually the government would restrict them and after the restriction period in japan they did ban them completely…. so it’s important to know the history of these knives because they were never designed to be effective.

Each time you use it for anything other than sharpening a pencil, opening a package, or cutting a bit of string, wipe the blade over with an oily rag. Any oil will do. To maintain the edge as a razor blade, get yourself a fine ceramic rod and give the edge half a dozen light swipes on each side. Then get a bit of leather and strop the blade with a smudge of toothpaste as a polishing compound.

I like mine a lot but the black outter coating can chip off when hit against something or scratched accidentally. Very classy sportsman item the City Stick I'm gonna use a black Sharpy to make it blend back in. 😊
