Yo what’s up. The new tank turned out to be too small for my liking so I’m saving up for a 150 or 180 gallon tank. For now I did get an innovative marine 15 gallon for my designer clownfish for the bedroom.

lol hate to tell you this but my purple tang has been in my tank for over 7 years and is the one in charge. She is fat and happy and can be hand fed. Hey everybody… quarantine is MANDATORY on tangs. This is sad to watch and could have been avoided. Just Do the QT!!! Blue hippo and powder blues 100% have ich coming in. So just QT all fish from the start with copper safe, metro and general cure and u will eliminate 90% of issues down the road.

If you had watched my earlier video about feeding and caring for my copperband, you will see both my baby hippo tang and copperband in my 40 gallon quarantine tank. Both were in Qt for two months and did extremely well when released into my display tanks. Both fish are still alive and doing very well. So I’m not sure what you mean when you say “it’s sad to watch”.

Whats up Brock - great video - any tips for Copperbands is great My personal experience is I have one that I've had for about 2 weeks now. I bought it from the LFS and chose the healthiest looking swimmer as opposed to the one that ate - whoops, broke rule #1. Anyways, I'm feeding it clams from the asian market after freezing them. It's the only thing so far that it will eat. Things that I tried that haven't worked: * live blackworms * mysis (PE - special grade and regular, and Hikari) * blood worms * live brine * masstick on rocks, masstick stuffed in clam * fish eggs My goal is to keep it healthy and fed and then come up with strategies to wean onto other foods as it grows and gets comfortable in the tank. How did yours turn out?

Hey there! We’ll copperband #1 mysteriously died overnight in a power head accident and it was really gross. Copper and #2 lived for two years (the one in the video), and then died while I was away for the weekend. These fish are notoriously hard to keep alive and that’s why I keep trying to crack the code. That’s also why I’m working with the powder blue tang now too. Your list looks perfect! If it doesn’t like that lineup then it’s on a hunger strike and probably won’t make it. Stick with what you’re doing. 99% of the time it’s the fish, not you that’s the problem.

@bronxreeferbrock1750

The rocks should be rinsed and sit in some RO water for a few hours but no need to treat with anything. My ph never moved from 8.2. Im not a big fan of dry rock and i have always used live rock. If i was to do it again, I would let the dry rock cure in a brute can for 6 months and add live bacteria and flow. Then add to my display tank.

@bronxreeferbrock1750
@bronxreeferbrock1750 3 жыл бұрын
You certainly can have multiple tangs in a 100 gal. The problem is that the sohal will out grow the tank quickly so i wouldnt add the sohal. The others will remain a decent size for the 100. The other problem will be the purple tang. Purple tangs are territorial and will attempt to kill the others as you add them. I would temporarily relocate the purple tang to another tank for a month or so and then reintroduce him to the 100 after everyone else has settled in. Have multiple nori feeding stations daily and all should be fine

@bronxreeferbrock1750

I love my anemones. Its best to get them before you add corals so they find a spot and get settled. My trick to making them settle where i want them is to keep the tank kinda dark and focus your white lighting over the perfect spot. They will most likely settle under that light or in that area. Then add your corals everywhere else. If your water and parameters are stable the anemone wont split and will be happy there. Also once they settle feed them small pieces on shrimp to keep them happy.
