Am I the only one who feels like the 90's had a certain warmth to it, whereas currently everything feels cold and impersonal. From our technology, to our shows and even people. It might be because everyone is striving for "perfection", which makes the world feel like a glossy, fake reality.

The twin towers looked more futuristic in 2001 than at any time in the past. It might have been the dot com boom & all the generation Xers living down there making them into the symbol of the future.

The new One World Trade Center is gorgeous but the fact that they never rebuilt Two World Trade Center to be it's twin beside it, like the new Twin Towers is so shameful. However the reinforced base is an eye sore because it shows how paranoid we are when it comes to terrorism. America lives in fear.
